A KROGER shopper got more than she bargained for when she found fuzzy mold on top of a candy she had just purchased.

The Kroger customer had more questions than answers after being denied a refund.

About a month ago, Marie (@jamericangurl2) bought some Smucker’s Fudge and noticed it tasted a little different.

She assumed the company had changed the formula and forgotten about it.

Before she even used half of the candy, she noticed “disgusting fuzz” growing in the jar.

It had been a while since she bought it, so she threw it away and decided to buy another one.

It was already covered in the same fuzzy mold when she opened it at home.

Marie went to Kroger to ask for a refund and advised the employee that they might want to speak to the distributor as it appeared the candy was already spoiled when she purchased it.

Surprisingly, the employee said the store no longer sold the candy.

“I told her I bought it here yesterday and it was on the shelf,” she wrote on X.

“She winks at me and says, ‘We sell, but we don’t sell.’ Well, I don’t know what that means, but if Kroger knows there’s a problem with Smucker’s candy, why is it still on the shelf?”

Marie checked the store to see if it was out of stock and found two more jars on sale for $2.50 each.

SPOILED

Another Kroger shopper, Angie Bailey, said she “just bought Kroger brand milk” after she got a spoiled gallon.

She opened a new jar and immediately noticed a bad smell and taste.

“This is the second time this month that a new jar has tasted horrible,” she wrote on X.

Kroger’s low prices weren’t enough to keep her around, and she said she would start shopping “literally anywhere else.”

Kroger Refund Policy

Kroger shoppers can return items with or without a receipt.

All Kroger Co. store families can accept returns on items purchased at any location within 30 days of purchase.

Returns with receipts:

  • Customers can use digital or paper receipts to get a refund
  • The refund will be returned to the same payment method in which the purchase was made. Returning a card or returning cash

Returns without receipts:

  • Customers who wish to return more than $10 will receive a gift card for store merchandise for the value
  • Customers who spent less than $10 will receive cash

The store apologized, but it wasn’t long before another customer had the same problem.

“Kroger brand milk always expires 7-10 days early for me for some reason,” someone else wrote.

The problem is so widespread that customers have left negative reviews about the milk on Kroger’s website.

“Four days before the expiration date and it’s sour. This happened with every half-gallon and gallon of Kroger milk I purchased,” wrote one dissatisfied customer.

A Kroger shopper returned an entire shopping cart worth $106 due to a frustrating store policy.

The store recently changed its buy one, get one free policy, upsetting grocery shoppers.
