SEVERAL Costco members blasted one of the warehouse club’s bakery items, snubbing the sweet treat online.

The $8.99 muffins are popular with many customers, but others find them lacking in flavor and texture.

On a publish to the Costco subreddit, one shopper shared his “unpopular opinion” about the retailer’s giant muffins, saying they “suck.”

The member explained that he hadn’t eaten muffins in a while, but recently purchased the blueberry and chocolate-vanilla varieties.

“They are the driest, densest muffins I have ever eaten. They taste more like bad cake”, criticized the customer, claiming that the local supermarket was much better.

Another Costco shopper agreed, criticizing the baked good for its lack of flavor.

“I have no idea how they can taste so bland and still contain so many calories,” they wrote. “About 700 calories just to prove I’m thirsty right now.”

Other customers didn’t like Costco’s requirement to buy two six-packs of jumbo muffins.

One shopper shared that politics was the main reason they stopped buying the muffins years ago, adding that they were “too much bread.”

Many were confused as to why the retailer had this policy and claimed that Costco would sell more if they only sold the muffins in packs of six.

“They are individually packaged for six. The boxes aren’t even glued together. Just let people buy less and charge about 50 cents more per package than if they bought the whole dozen,” they wrote.

MUFFIN MADNESS

Several Costco fans speculated that the warehouse club would change the size of the heavy muffins.

‘I never went back,’ says Costco customer who boycotted the store after being forced to join three separate lines during a trip

A Reddit user claiming to be a Costco employee shared a publish in which they suggested that the large muffins would be reduced.

“RIP: Giant Costco Muffin!” the user wrote, claiming the muffins would be swapped for a smaller package.

They posted an image of the original muffin pan next to a new, smaller pan.

The employee stated that Costco would sell the new muffins in packs of eight, rather than packs of six.

Some Costco locations launched two smaller muffin varieties last month, including lemon, raspberry and butter pecan.

The employee’s post suggested that each Costco muffin flavor would be sold in a smaller size.

Costco shoppers had mixed opinions on the news.

One customer called it “The end of an era” and wished the retailer would sell larger and smaller sizes.

Another said they were happy with the muffin size being reduced, claiming the original was too big for them.

“As long as they taste the same, I’ll be happy to accept some smaller, full-sized muffins,” they wrote.

In other Costco news, shoppers were furious after the chain cut a popular food court combo.

Plus, a member of Sam’s Club and Costco spoke with The US Sun and shared why she belongs to both.
