A GOODWILL customer was surprised to see how expensive an old, used item was at the thrift store.

She confronted the store manager about the absurd price of the item and the nonprofit’s general pricing structure.

In a viral TikTok videoavid saver Dianna (@queendianna27) criticized the chain for its “overpricing bullshit.”

“Who evaluates these things?” the buyer got angry after spotting a very expensive used candle.

“Who the hell is going to bet $4 on a candle that’s burned out like that?” she asked an employee, who said they would find someone to evaluate the item.

As the Goodwill shopper waited for the manager to arrive, Dianna pointed to an empty candle costing $3.49.

“How are you going to put $4 on a candle that’s a quarter full, burnt out, and old as shit, probably from a dollar store,” fumed the customer as soon as the manager arrived.

“Yes, I see what you mean. I intended to change that yesterday,” said the manager.

The buyer responded that she “sees this all the time” and found the chain’s pricing structure “ridiculous.”

“Don’t you think that’s ridiculous?” Dianna asked the manager, to which he replied yes.

She suggested that Goodwill employees pay more attention to the price they’re charging because it’s a “complete ripoff.”

The customer left the store frustrated and said the manager approached her again and thanked her for saying something.

‘I want this out of my house,’ says a saver who bought a $4 vase – it’s actually a 2,000-year-old artifact that’s ‘worth $107,000’

“I said, ‘I’m here all the time and I’m not usually that person to complain and say shit, but enough is enough,’” Dianna recalled.

“’I’ve been coming here a long time and seeing the prices for half-burnt, dust-filled candles from a damn dollar store that’s $3.99 and up is absolutely ridiculous.’”

She continued, telling the manager that although many Goodwill shoppers are resellers, 70% of customers come in because they can’t afford to shop at other stores.

Dianna informed him that they “really need to get it together back there.”

Valuable, cost-effective discoveries revealed

Here are some of the best thrift store finds:

She said the manager responded by saying that this type of overbilling doesn’t usually happen, but she countered that it “has been happening for a long time.”

GOODWILL COMPLAINTS

Many shoppers came to Dianna’s defense in the comments section, criticizing Goodwill for its overpriced used items.

“It’s SO crazy that they get all your stuff for FREE and then charge exorbitant prices!!!” wrote one customer.

“Goodwill makes me sick. NOW they ask if you want to gather ‘by goodwill’ at checkout too. I laughed when they asked me,” a second wrote.

Others shared that they no longer shop at Goodwill because of the inflated price.

Many claimed that shopping at retailers like Walmart, Ross, Marshalls, and Burlington was much cheaper than shopping at Goodwill.

Other Goodwill customers have cried tears over rising costs, as shoppers say the prices are “like a department store.”

Plus, Burger King customers were shocked when an old coupon revealed how prices had gone up $6 on a popular meal.
