SAM’S Club is facing heavy backlash after announcing that free shipping will no longer be offered to customers.

The benefit is currently offered to Sam’s Club Plus members.

But starting August 19, free shipping will only be available on orders of $50 or more.

Unfortunately, Plus members will have to pay a flat $8 shipping fee when they spend less than $50.

This fee will be added to the annual subscription cost of $110.

Sam’s Club told The US Sun it would expand free shipping options as part of the change.

But that’s not enough for some customers.

“Long time Sam’s Club Plus member but will be canceling as soon as new shipping rates start on August 19th,” wrote one customer (@writer) in X.

“Remind me again why I’m paying $110 annually. Amazon Prime is a little more expensive and offers more than free shipping.”

Another customer said it was wrong for the company to change perks after customers specifically signed up for them.

“I signed up and paid the fees because of these perks,” she he wrote.

“I change benefits when the member renews their membership, not four months after my paid membership begins.

I’m a member of Sam’s Club and Costco – but there’s a reason I belong to both and it all comes down to the ‘skeleton’

ANGRY CUSTOMERS

Rival wholesale club Costco is also making a big change to its membership policies.

The retailer is raising its subscription prices for the first time in seven years.

Starting September 1, the Gold Star membership fee will increase from $60 to $65 per year, and the Executive membership fee will increase from $120 to $130.

The price increase will affect around 52 million members, and many have already expressed frustration about it on social media.

“Here’s everything you need to know —> Cancel Costco and go to Sam’s Club,” said one customer he wrote in X.

“I have to hit them where it hurts.”

Another customer said that if enough people canceled, Costco might “rethink its move.”

“I will definitely cancel my subscription, which I haven’t been able to get value from in years,” one shopper responded.

Another big change is coming soon to 600 stores, and shoppers will notice different price tags.

Sam’s Club was forced to apologize to a customer after he received poor quality products.
