A WALMART+ subscriber was charged three times after canceling his subscription and accused the retailer of doing it on purpose.
Walmart+ costs $98 per year and offers customers perks like free shipping.
However, subscriber Larry Snakey thought it wasn’t worth it and canceled his subscription.
He said his card was charged three times for an annual subscription.
“Every time I order online from Walmart, we are charged for a year’s Walmart+ subscription. We had a subscription and canceled due to poor service,” Snakey (@revolutionof1) wrote in X.
The buyer removed all of his cards from his Walmart account to avoid further charges.
“I talked to support and told them what I think. Three times is no coincidence. Totally unethical!” He wrote.
Walmart apologized to Snakey and offered further help, which he said resolved the issue on his own.
BAD DEAL
Some Walmart shoppers are having similarly unpleasant experiences in stores.
One of the most significant issues among customers is that the store does not accept Apple Pay.
Customers said the store is stuck in the last century as 90% of retailers accept payment.
Shoppers often abandon full carts at checkouts because they intended to use Apple Pay.
Chad Coleman waited in line at Walmart on Saturday only to realize the store didn’t accept tap payment.
“So I just left, didn’t pick up any items, and I’m going to King Soopers or Target now,” Coleman fumed.
“It’s 2024. Maximize the ways I get my money.”
CHANGES TO SELF-CHECKOUT
To shoppers’ horror, select Walmart locations are limiting self-checkout to customers with 15 items or fewer.
The reaction was immediate on social media.

“Walmart, you guys suck for having a 15 item self-checkout limit,” wrote Joyce (@joycelou71) in X.
“I was already able to check off my 18 items before the lady in front of me even unloaded her cart onto the conveyor belt!”
Other customers begged the store to open more traditional cash registers if self-checkout was limited.
“What sense does it make to change self-checkout lanes to 15 items or less, but then only have two or three registers open? Make sense!” they (@ill-tempered_la) he wrote.
“Don’t worry about how many items I have when you see these log lines!”
A customer left behind a cart with $200 worth of purchases due to the self-checkout limit.
Another shopper criticized the store’s “lazy” staff after a poor self-checkout experience.
