Thrift store reselling can be a profitable hobby, and many people who do this side hustle enjoy sharing their successes on social media. TikTok.

However, Wayne (@kaywayshop) took it a step further and was able to quit his full-time job as a postman to make a living as a reseller

In a recent video, he shared an example of one of his serendipitous discoveries.

“Yesterday I spent $250 on one item at the thrift store,” he said.

However, the expensive pair of shoes was quite out of the ordinary.

Wayne showed off a pair of ostrich leather cowboy boots.

Inside, the label revealed that the boots were from the Luchesse brand.

Luchesse is a handcrafted boot company from Texas, and new pairs typically sell for between $795 and $2,995.

The brand is sought after by fans of Western fashion for its craftsmanship, quality leather and stunning styles.

Even at the thrift store, Wayne noticed they were originally $495.

However, all the items with white labels were half off the day he went shopping.

“Those things were beautiful,” Wayne said.

He posted them on eBay and within a day they sold for $550.

This left the dealer with a profit of $300 on a single item.

PACKAGING THE GOODS

However, the storage of the boots needed special attention.

“Since this was a very expensive sale, I wanted to make sure I packaged everything very well,” he said.

Wayne wrapped each individual boot in bubble wrap.

However, because they were size 15, he had to find a special box to ship them.
