It takes time and patience, but it can pay off a lot.

On TikTok, Tool Gardener (@gardener) regularly shares videos of his metal detector discoveries, which range from coins to jewelry.

After searching on a beach for a year, he found two valuable coins with a combined potential value of $10,974.

At the videothe first coin he found was a 1904 Barber Dime.

These coins were named after designer Charles E. Barber and were circulated from 1892 to 1916.

The coin features Lady Liberty on the obverse and an ornate crown surrounding the words “One Dime” on the reverse.

The year 1904 is a common date, and most examples were struck at the Philadelphia Mint.

In some cases, coins were struck with dies that left defects on Lady Liberty’s upper lip or soft, rounded letters on the reverse, according to the Professional Coin Sorter Service.

One of these 1904 Barber coins sold for a whopping $5,980 in Heritage Auctions offer.

The Tool Gardener also found a 1941 penny, which had a very low mintage of just over 887 million.

Of this total, it is estimated that only 15,000 copies remain today.

Because of the rarity, a collector was willing to shell out $4,994 to get one or the other. Sale of heritage auctions.

TREASURE HUNT

Nick Amelio, a teenager from Vero Beach, Florida, is a real-life treasure hunter.

He enjoys diving and hunting in old shipwrecks, looking for valuable treasures.

In 2021, he was diving near the Spanish Treasure Fleet of 1715 – 11 ships that were lost in a hurricane off the coast of Florida.

Nick first spotted a small flake of gold, but realized there were many more nearby.

“We started to find a trail of gold left by the shipwreck that sank more than 300 years ago,” he said.

“The day took an unexpected turn when I found an incredible gold coin.”

He had found a shiny gold shield from Mexico City.

“This is the Holy Grail of all discoveries,” Nick said.

“I thought my team was joking with me because it was crazy” he told TCPalm.com.

He told the outlet that the “find of a lifetime” is worth $10,000 because of its historical connection.

A homeowner found treasure in his attic in the form of a hidden stash of coins worth $550,000.

And a woman discovered that her grandfather’s silver coin was worth a whopping 30 thousand dollars.
