Barry appeared in an episode of Pawn Stars when he decided to sell his July 1966 issue of Playboy magazine.

However, the copy he had was a fake and never made it onto the shelves.

This didn’t mean the magazine was worthless, as the one Barry owned was the prop used in the movie Forest Gump.

While many expected a prop magazine to have nothing printed inside, this was a fake issue complete with articles and actress Robin Wright posing as the half-naked companion.

“I think there are a lot of collectors out there who would like this piece,” Barry said.

At first he wanted $2,500 for it.

“It’s kind of a lot money for a fake Playboy,” said Pawn Stars dealer Corey Harrison.

But Barry highlighted that it was a “unique” piece of an iconic film.

Forest Gump grossed $678.2 million at the box office and won six Oscars.

Barry and Corey agreed on a price of $2,000 for the magazine.

My dad gave me a magazine before he died – it turns out it was “the one everyone wants” and was worth $4,800

PLAYBOY VALUES

Both vintage Playboy magazines and memorabilia have a huge collector market.

The most valuable edition is the first, which features nude photos of Marilyn Monroe.

The legendary actress never posed for the magazine, but rather did the nude photo shoot years earlier for a photographer who sold them to Hugh Hefner for $500.

The Chicago native created a media empire, with seven million magazine subscribers at its peak.

Today, original copies of the debut edition sell for $5,000.

However, Playboy Club membership keys can be worth even more.

Hugh opened the first club in 1960, and members around the world were given a special key to grant them access.

The boss’s own key sold at auction for $28,000, while regular keys cost hundreds of dollars on eBay.

In another episode of Pawn Stars, a woman was shocked to discover that her grandmother’s brooch was worth $15,000.

And see if your leather jacket could be worth $2,500, depending on its value. history.
