People have gotten creative about how to make more money, and many have turned to TikTok to share their tips.

Last summer, he posted a special series on side hustles that are easy for teens to do while on vacation.
In a video, he explained how to earn up to $8,400 a month washing trash cans.

“I always saved this side hustle to do with my friends during the summer and we would make money,” he captioned the video.
All you need is a hose, but Mark also used a cleaning solution to take it an extra step.
You can go door to door in your neighborhood and offer to clean dirty trash cans for just $15.
He says it takes about 20 minutes per trash can and cleans about 20 cans daily.
At that rate, he earns $2,100 a week, or $8,400 a month.
Some commentators were quick to point out a major issue with Mark’s plan.
“$15 a can?? I’ll give the kids $5 maybe!” wrote one viewer.
Another viewer said regularly cleaning trash cans with a pressure washer doesn’t recommend charging $15.
“The number of people who will say yes to $5 will far outnumber those who will say yes to $15. [The] $5 will make you more money in the long run,” they wrote.

Another TikToker (@load101) shared another side hustle that’s perfect for the summer months.
He began painting and repairing mailboxes in his neighborhood, charging an average of $150.

It only costs about $60 to get started. You will need to purchase white paint, black spray paint, brushes, a screwdriver, and some mulch.
He said mulch isn’t necessary, but offering to add it to the base of the mailbox and pull weeds could earn you more money.
The first thing he does is remove all the address numbers from the mailbox and paint them again.
While they dry, he paints the mailbox and pulls the weeds in the area.
Then he replaces the numbers, puts down some mulch, and gets his money.
“At first, you might be a little slow, but once you get the hang of it, 45 minutes to an hour, and bam, you’re crushing jobs!” he said.
Before the summer ends, you can try another side hustle that involves yard work and pays $35 per hour.
