STAMFORD, Conn. – Three-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor is returning to the Summer Games — as a beach volleyball analyst for NBCUniversal.
“The beach volleyball venue is one of the most exciting of the Games, at the foot of the iconic Eiffel Tower,” said NBC Vice President of Olympics Production Rebecca Chatman. “It’s a great example of how different these Games are and how the organizers are using the City of Lights as one of the Games’ characters.”
May-Treanor will work on beach volleyball coverage alongside former Olympians Chris Marlowe, Dain Blanton and Kevin Wong. Marlowe, who will compete in the Olympic play-by-play for the ninth time, won a gold medal with the U.S. indoor volleyball team in 1984; Wong won two national indoor championships at UCLA and placed fifth in beach volleyball at the 2000 Games; Blanton won gold on the beach in Sydney.
May-Treanor won beach volleyball gold medals with Kerri Walsh Jennings in 2004, 2008 and 2012. Walsh Jennings will be in Paris for Yahoo Sports.
