Warning: This post contains spoilers Dragon House.

Anyone who watched The Game of Thrones knows that it was no easy task to survive in Westeros in the years leading up to the White Walkers’ attack on Winterfell – especially for those who intended to fight for the chance to sit on the Iron Throne. Still in Dragon HouseSet during the Targaryen civil war that took place nearly 170 years earlier, the odds of a peaceful death may be even worse.

Now in its second season, the Thrones‘The prequel spin-off has already featured 24 significant deaths – almost double the number that occurred on its original show at the same time. It’s true that there has yet to be a death with the same revolutionary shock value as Ned Stark’s decapitation. But the Dance of the Dragons has only just begun, which means there’s still plenty of Targaryen-on-Targaryen (i.e., dragon on dragon) violence to come. And as a wise character notes this season, “There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin.”

This week, victims of Battle of the Burning Mill became the latest to join the growing ranks of Dragon Houseis dead. Here are every character who died in Season 2, Episode 3 of the HBO series.

Note: While this list does not include every soldier, peasant, or servant who met their end, it is a comprehensive account (in chronological order) of deceased characters who had some impact on the plot. It has also been compiled according to how this story unfolds in Dragon Housenot by George R.R. Martin Fire and BloodO A song of ice and fire companion novel on which the show is based.
