Serena Williams and Nicole Kidman attend Simone Biles’ latest bid for more Olympic glory in Paris

PARIS– Celebrity spotting became part of the event at Bercy Arena when Simone Biles compete.

Stars Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman and Serena Williams gathered at the Olympic gymnastics venue on Tuesday to watch the superstar during the team final.

Spike Lee, Michael Phelps and former gymnast Nadia Comaneci were also in the crowd.

Williams has been in Paris for a few days and carried the Olympic torch during the opening ceremony last week. She sat next to Paris Games chief Tony Estanguet.

Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, were there with their two daughters. When asked if she was looking forward to the competition, Kidman said, “So excited! So excited!”

Biles’ husband was also in the stands after arriving in the French capital in time for the women’s team final. Jonathan Owensan NFL player for the Chicago Bears, took a leave of absence from training camp to be here.

Owens sat next to Biles’ mother and father, Nellie and Ron Biles.

Simone Biles had a big smile as she ran off the podium following her uneven bars routine. Phelps stood up and applauded her, his arms raised high as he applauded the star American gymnast. He appeared to be filming her on his cell phone.

Lee also stood up to cheer on Biles, as if she were courtside at a New York Knicks game. The actor and film director was in the front row of the sea, above the vault corridor, wearing white-rimmed glasses and a USA basketball jersey.

Lady Gaga, Tom Cruise and Jessica Chastain attended Biles’ return to the Olympics when she competed in the qualifiers on Sunday.

Biles, 27, was in the lineup compete in all four events of the team final despite a calf injury. Biles pinched the left calf while preparing for floor exercises during qualifying on Sunday. She still led the overall with the highest scores on floor and vault.
