WWE’s SummerSlam will be action-packed – and lots of sponsors

Just days away, WWE is gearing up for this year’s SummerSlam, which promises to bring plenty of action – and sponsorships. The premium live event will have 12 total sponsors and six match sponsorships, both records for a non-WrestleMania premium live event.

Sponsorship revenue is also growing, increasing more than 60% compared to last year’s SummerSlam, according to the sports entertainment company.

What SummerSlamheld at Ford Field in Detroit, generated $7 million in sponsorship revenue, a 23% increase compared to 2022.

This year’s SummerSlam, which will include Cody Rhodes facing Solo Sikoa, will be held on Saturday at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Among the sponsors of the match will be Slim Jim meat snacks, which is in its second year of partnership with WWE. Slim Jim will also receive sponsorships at four future premium live WWE events.

Wingstop, a restaurant chain, will be the presenting partner of the event. The Wingstop partnership includes two corner signage placements, which is the first time in WWE history that the ringside display will feature this exclusive branding.

Other SummerSlam sponsors will include C4, Manscaped, Wheatley, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Riot Games, Verizon Straight Talk and Betterthe YouTube stars’ beverage brand Logan Paulo and KSI who signed a deal with WWE in March.

“SummerSlam has become a premier destination for brands wanting engagement and exposure to large, loyal audiences during the summer months,” said Grant Norris-Jones, executive vice president and head of global partnerships for TKO, in a statement. continues to grow in scale and popularity, enabling our partners to perform in new and unique ways across multiple mediums.”

Randal Konik of Jefferies said in a recent analyst note that there appear to be ample opportunities for management at WWE’s parent company. TKO Group to drive significant sponsorship growth for WWE in the coming years.

“Given management’s success in driving significant sponsorship growth in the UFC, we hope they leverage a similar playbook to capitalize on the growing sponsorship opportunity available to them in WWE,” he wrote.

While WWE recently added ring sponsorship with Prime, Konik noted that the company has also added digital screens in the corners of the ring, giving it more opportunities to increase brand visibility.
