Devoted Dance Moms fans are familiar with Ashburn, Virginia-based dance studio and teacher Glo Hampton, the star of the new Hulu series, which premiered Wednesday.

But despite the studio’s appearance on TV with its packed classes and dozens of dancers eager to be selected for Glo’s super elite dance team, in reality, that’s not its reputation.

Google listed the studio as “permanently closed” as neighboring businesses confirmed they have not operated for “at least a month.”

US Sun called the studio but received no response and was unable to reach the owner, Kimberly Rishi, by phone or email.

ANGRY CUSTOMERS

Speculation had been circulating for weeks on social media about what happened to the popular dance studio after it suddenly closed.

Some fans suspected in an online thread that the move was to increase the show’s ratings due to its timing with the series premiere.

Others have suggested that an upgrade to a larger studio is in the works, but there is no record of this being the case.

The closure has not yet been addressed on Studio Bleu’s social media accounts, as its last post on Facebook It is dated June 30th.

From them website states that summer camps don’t end until August 9th.

“Wow… and to think Studio Bleu used to be one of the most popular dance studios on the East Coast… they claimed to have thousands of students at one point,” wrote one shocked social media user in another online thread.

Another user, who claimed her daughter was a student at the studio, added: “This is a very sad ending for my daughter. This all came to a head just before nationals, but our dancers stuck together to support each other.”

Dana first mentioned that the pair would not be returning to the studio in a TikTok video she posted on your joint page last month.

She explained her decision exclusively to The US Sun via email: “We left the studio in May after Kennedy auditioned and was accepted into a program at a different studio more aligned with her future goals.

UNITED TEACHERS

Studio Bleu teachers also had to scramble to look for work following the school’s unexpected closure, just weeks after their students competed in the National Talent Competition in early May.

However, former Studio Bleu clients revealed in an online thread that two teachers from the school had opened their own studio, Rise, nearby and brought many of their former colleagues and students with them.

The US Sun can exclusively confirm that some teachers who recently taught at Studio Bleu are listed on the class schedule on the Rise website.

Additionally, former Studio Bleu dance instructor Renee Henderson addressed the fall of the beloved dance studio in a lengthy Facebook post on July 3.

‘DESTROYED TO PIECES’

“Over the past few weeks, my second home and my children’s second home have fallen apart,” Renee wrote.

She also revealed that the building was listed for rent and attacked the owner, Kimberly, for her handling of the studio’s apparent downward spiral.

“Three weeks ago, the Studio Bleu building was unexpectedly listed for rent… It has been a long time since we were treated with the respect we deserved.

“We’re still there to provide stability, love and training to the students. We tried to encourage the owner to make changes. She wouldn’t listen.”

The US Sun can confirm that Studio Bleu was listed for rent on several real estate websites earlier this year, but the listings are no longer advertised.

Renee noted that she resigned from her position at Studio Bleu and was looking for opportunities elsewhere.

She again shared her sadness over the situation in another post weeks later, writing, “Our dance hall was recently destroyed and longtime friends are now scattered.”

US Sun reached out to Renee for comment but did not hear back.

A NEW ERA

Dance Moms: A New Era is a spin-off of the Lifetime original Dance Moms series, which documented Abby Lee Dance Company owner and instructor Abby Lee Miller’s stern teaching style for her elite competition team.

It also showed the battles between the students’ mothers, who went to great lengths to put their children at the top.

The show propelled dancers Maddie Ziegler and JoJo Siwa to fame and helped launch the careers of many of its young stars.
