GENERAL Hospital’s Kirsten Storms shared a scary photo of her eye that left fans stunned.
Kirsten, who played Maxie Jones on General Hospital, shared a new photo on Instagram showing off her unexpected black eye.

The 40-year-old actress pouted in a black and white close-up selfie that showed her face completely covered in what appeared to be black powder.
She revealed in her caption, however, that it was coffee grounds.
Kirsten accidentally opened a coffee can that exploded directly in her face – specifically on one side.
“One of those ‘funny story, but not funny when I need coffee’ moments…” she joked in the caption.

“I’ve opened several cans of @illy_coffee and never once has the powder exploded out of that beautiful metal container,” she added.
“There is a first time for everything.
“I can definitely say that I prefer my coffee brewed in hot water (or with ice)… straight from the pot doesn’t taste as good.”
Kirsten clarified that a warning label was written on the can in several languages, ultimately assuming blame for the accident.

The photo left fans surprised, with some questioning whether it referred to a new plot in the soap opera.
“I thought it was a GH story!! I’m thinking ‘who would dare give Maxie a black eye?’ one wrote.
“Not me thinking you filmed a crazy scene for the show and that was your makeup,” a second added.
“One quick moment made me think ‘does she need backup?’” said a third, wondering if Kirsten had a black eye.
“Okay, so that’s coffee, right??? It’s not a bruise???” another asked.
