Robin Williams’ loved ones pay tribute to actor on 10th death anniversary as son Zak says ‘you inspire me every day’

ACTOR Robin Williams was remembered by family and friends on the 10th anniversary of his death.

Robin, who became known for his wide variety of characters in the 80s and 90s, died by suicide in 2014, aged 63.

The Oscar-winning actor has starred in many successful films, including Mrs. Doubtfire, Flubber, Jumanji, Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, and more.

On August 11, the anniversary of his death, many people in Robin’s life paid tribute to the late actor to remember his legacy in the film industry.

Robin’s son Zachary, 41, posted a photo on Instagram of his father during the early years of his career.

“Dad, it’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years,” Zak wrote.

“You continue to inspire me every day to do everything I can to help create a more connected and loving world for our family. Love you forever,” she concluded.

NEVER FORGET

Robin’s friends and colleagues also took time to remember the comedian, including producer George Schlatter, who helped boost Robin’s career by hiring him for Laugh In in 1977.

“I had fun with Robin Williams because he was more intellectually informed, had more history, more knowledge, more vocabulary than anyone,” he said. People.

Robin voiced the character Genie in the 1992 animated film Aladdin, starring Scott Weinger as the voice actor for the titular role.

When Scott recalled working with Robin for the first time, he said the actor was “so calm and charming and disarming.”

“We were looking at the storyboards together and talking about the script and talking to our directors, and finally when the red light in the recording studio came on, some kind of magic switch flipped and he turned into the Robin Williams I was hoping for,” he he added.

“He was amazing. He was amazing, both sides of him – the calm, comforting side, and the manic genius side.”

Recalling the day of his death, Scott noted how “it really felt like the world had changed in some fundamental way.”

Robin’s career began in the 1980s when he landed a starring role on the ABC sitcom Mork & Mindy.

He made his film debut around the same time in the film Popeye.

Robin gained a huge fan base throughout his time in Hollywood, appearing in over 60 films.

He has won numerous awards, including an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Golden Globe Awards, and five Grammy Awards.

The screen legend struggled with depression and addiction throughout his career, which led him to take his own life.

After his death, Robin’s widow, Susan Schneider, spoke out about what the actor was going through.

“Robin was going crazy and he was aware of it. He kept saying, ‘I just want to reset my brain,’” she said.

Robin’s autopsy revealed that he suffered from Lewy body disease, a form of dementia that compounded his depression.
