Property records obtained by The Wall Street Journal revealed that Ellen and Portia sold the property less than two years after purchasing it for around $70 million.

Records showed the buyer is an entity linked to Robert, whose net worth is estimated at about $3 billion.

The couple traded properties with Robert, with records showing they paid him $32 million in June to buy back a Santa Barbara home they sold to him earlier this year.

Carpinteria is a coastal town near Santa Barbara and Montecito that has attracted famous homeowners like Yellowstone star Kevin Costner and filmmaker George Lucas in recent years.

US Sun has reached out to representatives for Ellen, Portia and Robert for comment.

The Carpinteria property comprises two lots measuring about 10 acres, complete with an 8,000-square-foot home spread over three floors, a cabin and a guest house.

Other highlights of the luxurious property include a pool house, an art studio, a staff office, and access to a private beach.

The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom Tuscan-style home is tastefully decorated with stone arches, exposed wood beams, marble accents — including a gorgeous kitchen countertop — hardwood floors.

The master suite has double closets and bathrooms, and opens onto a terrace with a spa.

Ellen DeGeneres announces last stand up tour after show is canceled and says ‘yes, I’ll talk about it’

The sale comes a month after the Emmy winner, who hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show for 19 years, announced she was “done” with showbiz once she taped her Netflix special.

The 66-year-old comedian, who is currently on her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour, recently discussed the possibility of an acting comeback during a tour stop in Santa Rosa, California, last month.

When an audience member asked Ellen if she plans to return to film or Broadway, she responded, “Um. No. This is the last time you’ll see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.”

She also addressed the scandal that plagued her NBC daytime talk show four years ago, ending her career as one of TV’s most beloved hosts.

Ellen DeGeneres Tour Dates

“Let me tell you what’s been happening to me since you last saw me,” she began. “I have chickens.

“Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being bad.”

While she did not directly apologize for her alleged off-screen actions and behavior, Ellen added, “I can be demanding, impatient and tough.

“I’m many things, but I’m not bad.”

The final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired on May 26, 2022, two years after the publication of the bombshell Buzzfeed report that derailed her career.

Former employees claimed they were subjected to a “toxic work environment”, sharing their experiences of “racism, fear and intimidation” during their tenure.

Ellen announced her tour in a May release from producer Live Nation, calling it “the last opportunity to witness a comedy legend take his final curtain call.”

A week after announcing her plans to quit show business, Ellen canceled a series of tour stops, including four shows in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and Dallas.

FLIP SHOW

According to The Riv magazine, Ellen, whose net worth is estimated at $500 million, has sold more than 50 homes over the past two decades.

She closed eight real estate deals in 2022 alone, calling moving house “my version of traveling” in an interview with the publication.

“I don’t really travel much. So moving house is my version of traveling. With moving house, the scenery changes, even though I stay in the same general area,” she said.

“Just in a new place and from a new perspective,” Ellen added.

Other well-practiced celebrities include model Sofia Richie, Disney legend Miley Cyrus and America’s Got Talent judge Sogia Vergara.

“Successful homes remodel the entire property. Some homes are demolished and rebuilt,” Los Angeles real estate expert Stacey Franklin told The US Sun.

“Others carry out small projects, such as renovating just surfaces or changing tiles in the kitchen.

“Celebrities have realized that they can make even more money than their day jobs by flipping and creating extra wealth,” she added.
