SINGER Jewel has insisted she is still a country bumpkin and will never get her crooked tooth fixed despite her romance with celebrity Kevin Costner.

Jewel, 50, who was raised on a five-acre potato farm with no plumbing or heat, spoke about her humble beginnings in the magazine’s August/September issue. AARP.
It was on that farm, on the outskirts of Homer, Alaska, where the singer learned to sing yodel with her father, Atz Kilcher.
The You Were Meant For Me singer revealed that the traditional singing style “taught me about vocal control and precision.”
“At a gala for my Crystal Bridges [Museum] exhibition in the Ozarks [this year]I sang ‘Over the Rainbow’ and ended with a cappella yodeling. The circle came full circle – I wanted to pay homage to the region and say: ‘Look at what we, hillbillies, can do!’, he boasted.
Jewel still sings some of her songs, including the song Chime Bells, which is also known as The Yodeling Song.
Growing up in Alaska, Jewel sang and sang in a duo with her father near their home.
She told the magazine that her entire family is “artistic.”
“All of my aunts sing and write their own songs and taught themselves to play instruments,” she told AARP.
She continued: “An aunt makes the most beautiful sculptures. All my cousins play guitar and write songs. My grandparents had this very idealistic philosophy of “Let’s leave Europe and let’s make the world a better place”. That’s how my family is connected.”
“I want my life to be my best work of art. I want to try to live thoughtfully and intentionally and carve my humanity into something that I will enjoy at the end of my life”, revealed the singer.
Kevin Costner’s relationships
Kevin has been married three times and has seven children.

In June, Kevin Costner finally addressed dating rumors with Jewel after months of speculation.
“Jewel and I are friends,” Costner revealed during an interview on The Howard Stern Show.
He continued: “We never left, ever. I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have.”
The Yellowstone star went on to call Jewel “special” and “beautiful.”
“That never happened for us,” he concluded.
The pair sparked romance rumors after they were spotted getting cozy at Jewel’s organization, Inspiring Children Foundation, in the British Virgin Islands on December 8, 2023.
The Oscar-winning actor was seen wrapping his hands around Jewel’s waist as she gave a speech at the event.
