LAMORNE Morris has opened up about being a single father to his daughter Lily in a rare new comment.

This week, the New Girl actor was a guest on Today with hosts Hoda Kotb, 60, and Jenna Bush Hager, 42.

On Tuesday, Lamorne, 40, spoke to the US daytime TV show’s anchors about upcoming projects, a trip with Glen Powell, her Emmy nomination for FX’s drama series Fargo, and her daughter Lily.

During your interviewHoda and Jenna showed a video of the Hollywood actor receiving the call that he had received an Emmy nomination and how Lily reacted.

In the adorable clip, Lamorne was on the phone laughing and crying at the same time, which seemed to confuse the little one.

“I love this video for so many reasons,” Jenna exclaimed.

“You’re teaching your beautiful daughter that it’s okay to have an open heart.”

Lamorne agreed: “100 percent.

“I think it’s beneficial for children to understand the differences between the two and that it’s okay to cry whether you’re sad or happy.

“There are times when she sees me cry, maybe because I’m sad or because I’ve lost someone and she’s trying to understand what that means.

“And on this occasion, because I’m laughing and crying, she’s confused and making fun of me,” he laughed.

‘SHE NEEDS TO BE A LAWYER!’

Hoda asked the Woke star what kind of father he was and revealed he was a single dad.

“She kind of had me wrapped around her finger,” Lamorne admitted.

He continued, “I try to say ‘No, that’s not how this is going to happen,’ but it always happens the way she wants it to.”

Lamorne went on to tell a story where Lily told her father she loved him.

He said it was “involuntary and out of the blue.”

“I said ‘Oh my God’ and picked her up and then she whispered in my ear ‘Can I have some donuts now?’” he laughed.

“She needs to be a lawyer!” Jenna said.

Lamorne Morris was born on August 14, 1983, in Chicago, Illinois.

In an interview with Today, the actor revealed that he worked several restaurant and retail jobs before becoming a full-time actor.

Since then, Lamorne has starred in many well-known TV shows and films, including New Girl, Ghosts, Unstable, Game Night, The Christmas Chronicles, Yesterday, and Jumanji: The Next Level.

Later this year, Lamorne will also star in the SNL movie Saturday Night as Garrett Morris.
