US Sun can exclusively reveal that Judge Gary Starnes praised Ryan in court.

Judge Starnes said, “We’re here for a follow-up to see how you’re doing. I don’t see any probation violations. You’ve been drug free for over a year. That’s an accomplishment. I’m glad you’re doing well.”

Ryan’s lawyer then turned in the paperwork for his counseling at CADAS rehab.

Judge Starnes said, “I want you to stay in CADAS. I know there was no problem.”

He then revealed that Ryan has a new job working on car engines.

Judge Starnes continued, “Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re coming a long way, well done. I know you’re happy.”

District Attorney Coty Wamp said, “Congratulations from the state.”

Ryan will be back on the court on November 18th.

Judge Starnes credits Ryan’s success in remaining drug-free to his stint in prison in December.

Ryan arrived at court in good spirits with his girlfriend, Amanda Conner.

Ryan wore a purple polo shirt with black pants to the hearing.

O Teen Mom: The Next Chapter the star sported a black eye and a cut on his arm, likely from a recent ATV accident.

Their mother, Jen, and aunt joined them moments later as she sat with Amanda while Ryan spoke to his lawyer.

While in court, Amanda sat next to Jen as the two chatted before the hearing began.

PAST PROBLEMS

In December 2023, Ryan was arrested during a court hearing on December 5 after being accused of not following the terms of his plea deal.

District Attorney Wamp demanded that he undergo a drug test, and Ryan returned to the Silverdale Detention Center courtroom on December 8 to get the results.

Despite being approved, Judge Gary Starnes still gave Ryan more than a month in jail for failing to comply with the terms of his probation.

District Attorney Wamp said during the hearing, “We passed the drug test. The state is surprised. The state believes that Mr. Edwards does not want to take his parole seriously. Good thing he passed the drug test.

“He needs the Vivitrol injection. He was a few weeks late. My request would be that we monitor his progress and ask the court to report on his progress, including his AA meetings.

“All of this should be simple enough for someone going through rehabilitation to do well and not want to be incarcerated for years.”

Judge Starnes said: “I don’t know how many more opportunities Mr Edwards is entitled to. He failed to do what he was supposed to.

“He was impeached and imprisoned for almost three months. He suffered violations at Oasis and CADAS, but they didn’t expel him.

“How many more chances does Mr. Edwards think he’ll get? What do you think when he doesn’t follow the program? He’s had so many chances and every time he’s had the opportunity to do things he should have done. Now he’s back.”

“Here we are. He was in a fight in a bar, he was dragged out. His decision making throughout his life, he hasn’t improved at all.”

Judge Starnes is referring to The US Sun’s exclusive video of Ryan being thrown out of a bar in Tennessee.

Ryan and his girlfriend, Amanda Conner, went to Westbound Honky-Tonk in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Saturday, November 25th.

In the video, Ryan can be seen being dragged out of the bar by bouncers, as he screams as he is pushed out at around 10:30 p.m.

Amanda was also removed by security in the video.

Ryan’s attorney responded at the hearing: “Mr. Edwards doesn’t feel entitled… when someone has a drug problem, stopping it is a battle.

“Based on his most recent screen, it shows progress, it shows he’s trying. Is he doing everything orderly? No, sir. But I think he’s going to try.”

Judge Starnes responded: “He was tested several times in custody, at CADAS and at Oasis, he came back negative. As for his addiction, it’s a success. He is not willing to do anything they tell him. He’s not blaming addiction today.”

Judge Starnes sentenced Ryan to prison until January 17.

He was released early on December 23.

LEGAL PROBLEM

Ryan was originally sentenced to 11 months and 29 days at the Silverdale Detention Center in April 2023 for possession of a controlled substance, simple possession and driving under the influence.

He was released into rehab in July and into a halfway house in August, where he met his girlfriend Amanda.

RYAN’S PAST PRISONS

Ryan has been in and out of prison since early 2023 on drug, harassment and other charges.

He was arrested on February 10, 2023 at his work for harassment, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and violating a protective order.

He was then arrested for aggravated stalking.

He violated a protection order on March 1 after authorities issued two warrants for his arrest on February 23.

Ryan pleaded guilty to the harassment charge at a court hearing, Ashley’s Reality Summary reported.

The MTV star was ordered to undergo rehabilitation treatment and have no contact with the victim, as he was placed on probation for 11 months and 29 days.

Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, stalking and violation of protective order were dismissed.

Regarding possession of a controlled substance, he was sentenced to rehabilitation with the option of reduced time for good behavior after six months.

He was then arrested on April 7 for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence, which are the same charges as his current court case, after the Teen Mom OG alum was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of his truck.

AWAY FROM PROBLEMS

Ryan has managed to stay out of legal trouble since his release as he has a good relationship with his mother, Maci Bookout, and 15-year-old son Bentley.

They even took a family photo with Maci’s husband Taylor McKinney and Ryan’s girlfriend Amanda on Easter.

Ryan and Amanda even moved in together, as they were seen riding motorcycles and fishing.

EX-WIFE DRAMA

But Ryan has had drama with his ex-wife Mackenzie, who he shares children Jagger, 5, and Stella, 4, with.

Mackenzie28, filed for divorce from Ryan on February 28, 2023, after getting married in 2017.

The divorce was rejected on February 19, 2024, as the case had not been filed for 270 days.

The US Sun then reported that Ryan filed his own divorce proceedings against Mackenzie on March 6.

Ryan requested to be the “designated primary residential parent” of his two children and “that child support be awarded from [Mackenzie’s] income.”

Mackenzie, who has a son from a previous marriage, has not yet responded to the divorce request.

The US Sun also reported that Mackenzie filed an order of protection against Ryan on March 28, 2023.

The order asked Ryan to have no contact and stay away from her.

She also requested that she be granted temporary custody of their children and that Ryan pay child support, child support and all court costs.

Mackenzie invited Ryan to attend a substance abuse and counseling program.

In the protection order, she pointed to an incident previously covered by The US Sun that occurred on January 31, 2024.

She wrote in the lawsuit: “Ryan came to [the] residence at 9pm to look for a telegram after receiving a no response. He then texted after the police left and said ‘no one would survive anything because you can’t act like an adult’.”

She claimed he “called my phone and said his girlfriend was going to be off supervised probation and I was already waiting so what am I going to do about it.”

She then mentioned another incident that allegedly happened on March 28th.

Mackenzie stated that Ryan “called my phone and texted me today saying when this [divorce] He broke up with his girlfriend and would take care of me.”

“[Ryan] He sent me a message from another number saying that if I didn’t sign the divorce papers he would blackmail me and make me fired,” she said.

A hearing took place on April 8, 2024 and the parties agreed to a mutual protective order.
