Since her conservatorship ended in 2021, Jamie and Britney have still fought.

The father-daughter duo were still fighting over legal fees and managing her finances during the conservatorship.

Jamie was seeking court approval for more than $2 million to hire attorneys during the 13-year conservatorship, as well as his current attorney’s hefty bills.

In the end, Britney was ordered to pay her father’s legal bills of more than $2 million, according to TMZ.

Sources told the news outlet that Britney is “furious” about the outcome after her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, said she had a good chance of winning the case.

During his time as a lawyer for the Toxic hitmakers, Britney reportedly paid him approximately $4 million.

MONEY MONEY

In February 2021, a court ruling revealed that Jamie would not have sole control over Britney’s finances.

At the time, Britney petitioned the court that she wanted a financial institution to take her father’s place in managing her massive net worth and assets out of fear of her father.

Judge Brenda Penny denied Britney’s petition but appointed Bessemer Trust as co-conservator.

Months later, in August, Jamie stepped down as conservator of her estate, meaning he will no longer be able to make decisions when it comes to her money.

THE END

In September 2021, Britney’s case returned to a Los Angeles court, where Judge Brenda Penny made a series of bombshell rulings, following her father’s decision to end the conservatorship the previous month.

She decided to free Jamie from her daughter’s guardianship, however, this did not mean the complete end of the guardianship.

Speaking in court, Judge Brenda Penny said: “Based on what I have read in the record and I have read everything. I believe that Jamie Spears’ suspension is in Britney Spears’ best interest.

“The current situation is unattainable. The court finds that the toxic environment Jamie Spears created needs to be removed today.”

After the judge’s ruling, a temporary conservator was placed in Jamie’s place for about a month.
