KISS AND TELL!
Anne recently opened up about an unorthodox audition process for an undisclosed film from 20 years ago.
The New York native claimed she had to kiss several actors during a chemistry reading.
“They told me, ‘We have 10 guys coming in today and you’re lined up. Aren’t you excited to be with them all?’
“And I thought, ‘Is there something wrong with me?’ because I wasn’t excited,” she said V Magazine in an interview.
“I thought it looked disgusting,” Anne said, even though she agreed to the lawsuit over the untitled film.
“It wasn’t a power play, no one was trying to be horrible or hurt me,” she assured fans.
“It was a very different time and now we know better,” the actress explained, adding that kissing multiple people for a chemistry reading was “considered normal” back then.
CHOOSING A LOVE INTEREST
Anne produced and stars in her new romantic comedy, and she told V that the audition process was very different from the one earlier in her career.
“We asked each of the actors that arrived to pick a song that they thought their character would love, that they would put on to make my character dance, and then we would do a little improvisation,” she noted.
“I was sitting in a chair like we had come from dinner or a walk or something, we pressed play and started dancing together.”
Anne and the producers ended up choosing actor Nicholas Galitzine as her on-screen love interest, due to his interesting choice of song.
Nicholas selected a song from The Alabama Shakes, which the actress says made her “smile” on set.
“It was very easy. I heard [lead singer] Brittany’s voice and I started to smile.
“And he saw me smile, so he relaxed and we started dancing.
“Nobody was trying to get the show. We were just dancing in space. I looked over and Michael Showalter, our director, was beaming. Spark!” she gushed.
