FORMER Nickelodeon mogul Dan Schneider has sued the producers of Quiet on Set for defamation, claiming the documentary falsely portrayed him as a child abuser.
The true crime docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV detailed behind-the-scenes rumors and controversies surrounding children’s television from the 1990s to the 2000s.

The 5-part television special followed Scheneider’s tenure at Nickelodeon and the TV producer feels the docuseries ruined his reputation.
The lawsuit accuses Warner Bros. Discovery, Maxine Productions, Sony Pictures Television and others for falsely insinuating that he sexually abused child actors who worked on his shows, as reported by TMZ.
Schneider has produced several successful children’s shows with the network, including The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, iCarly and Zoey 101.
The 58-year-old producer feels producers purposely painted him in a negative light for “click bait, ratings and views — or simply put, money.”

The lawsuit alleges that Quiet on Set producers attempted to establish a connection between Schneider and Jason Michael Handy and Bryan Peck — two convicted sex offenders who worked on the same Nickelodeon shows.
“Schneider had no knowledge of the abuse, was not complicit in the abuse, condemned the abuse as soon as it was discovered, and, crucially, was not himself a child sexual abuser,” the lawyers alleged in the suit.
Schneider accused the producers of Quiet on Set of intentionally using misleading statements and editing techniques in the trailer, as well as in several episodes, to create the impression that he was a pedophile.
The lawyers used the trailer as an example, as it teased Schneider’s success at Nickelodeon coinciding with one of the network’s “darkest chapters.”
