Julianne Hough, 35, made sure to let her ex and his mother know that she still has them in mind.

It all started when the American Idol host took to Instagram to give a shout out to his mother, Connie, on her birthday.
“Get up you cosmopolitans, it’s Connie’s birthday. Happy birthday, Mom. I love you!” Ryan, 49, wrote alongside a photo of him and his mother hugging each other.
Julianne sent some love to Ryan’s mom and also got emotional in the comments section.
“Happy birthday to the one and only Cosmo Connie!” the Dancing With Stars co-host wrote.
Many fans also commented, while one reacted: “Proud moment! Happy Birthday Miss Connie!! I hope your day is filled with love and blessings.”
“Happy birthday to one of the coolest moms in the world!”
Ryan and Julianne have a lot of history together, as the pair dated from 2010 to 2013, but the duo’s busy schedule was ultimately the reason for their split.
At the time, Julianne hinted at her thoughts on the breakup on Instagram, saying she felt like she didn’t “deserve” the luxuries that came with dating Ryan.
“I was on private planes and yachts and lived in a very, very rich house – very different from where I grew up,” she wrote on the platform.
Julianne also revealed that she left the relationship “because I wanted to create this for myself” and added, “I kind of felt like I didn’t deserve it.
“So now I need to create this for myself,” she shared.
In April 2023, Julianne sat down with Kelly Clarkson on her daytime talk show to talk about her relationship with Ryan.
“When I was 21 [years old]I actually ended up dating your former host, Ryan,” she began, referring to the show that helped Kelly become a big name.
“And then we dated, and he really likes wine,” Julianne said.

“He taught me all different things – how to smell, taste and swirl the glass. It was really cool,” Julianne revealed at the time.
While it appears that Ryan and Julianne are on good terms, it’s unknown if the same can be said about his most recent ex, Aubrey Paige.
The pair split in April 2024 after dating for three years.
“After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to separate,” a source revealed to People.
“They plan to remain in each other’s lives as good friends and support each other’s endeavors,” the source added.
Days after the split, Aubrey shared a glimpse of her home, including a stool, a gold table, a wooden TV console and more.
“Aesthetics of change… Working on benches,” Aubrey, 26, joked in the caption, hinting that she hadn’t purchased any chairs for her new residence.
Aubrey has shared several cryptic quotes since her split, but neither she nor Ryan have officially broken their silence on the end of their relationship.
