EVA Mendes defended her husband Ryan Gosling after The Fall Guy disappointed at the box office.
Earlier this month, the David Leitch-directed action comedy opened to a lower-than-expected $27 million.
Since its opening weekend on May 3, The Fall Guy has recorded domestic grosses of $53 million and worldwide grosses of $107 million, per Box Office Mojo, against an estimated budget of $130 million.
The film follows a depressed stuntman, played by Ryan, 43, as he tries to win back the love of his life, played by Emily Blunt, 41, by finding the missing star of his film director ex-girlfriend’s blockbuster film. .
On Thursday, Ryan’s wife, Eva Mendes, 50, came to The Fall Guy’s defense by posting disgruntled fan comments on Instagram.
One X, formally Twitter, said: “Alright, why don’t you guys go watch #TheFallGuy?”
The irritated writer continued, “It’s the most fun I’ve had watching a movie in a LONG time.”
Another fan tweeted, “one thing that isn’t a spoiler to say is that none of Ryan’s characters have ever had a boyfriend like Colt Seavers’ boyfriends.
“Not Noah, not Dean, not Seb, not even Ken.”
Eva captioned the post: “Did you know?! @thefallguymovie is the FIRST non-superhero film to open the summer box office in 17 years!”
“And maybe it didn’t break the box office, but it broke so many other records,” she added.
The Other Guys star continued: “I’m extremely proud of this one. The proof is in my post – I don’t normally post pictures of my man kissing a baby, but Emily Blunt is really good at it.
“They’re very good at it.”
She then signed: “Viva el fall guy!”
In the comments section, one fan responded: “It was hilarious, I loved it and laughed a lot. These two were great together and they both have great chemistry on screen and off… in anything.
“I didn’t think I could fall more in love with Ryan, but I did. Bravo.”
Eva hilariously and somewhat reluctantly responded, “Okay, okay, yes, they have amazing chemistry.
“I wish I could say it’s all an act, but it’s not – Colt is in love with her and so am I! Emily is the best. I’m in love! Believe the hype – she’s amazing!” she added.
“I love how beautiful you are on the inside! Being able to recognize the awesomeness of another woman is really cool,” commented another fan.
A third commenter commented: “I love movies about movies and this one is fun! The split-screen phone conversation was my favorite.”
“That’s my favorite scene too!!! Classic,” replied Eva.
TOGETHER AGAIN
Last week, Eva teased that she and Ryan plan to reunite in a new film in the not-so-distant future.
The actress took a step back from acting to focus on raising the couple’s two daughters.

Eva has hinted that she might return to acting, and that could be with Ryan by her side when she shares side by side photos On Instagram.
One showed Ryan dressed as his character Colt Seavers in The Fall Guy and the other as Eva in a recent photo shoot.
They wore the same color attire, with Ryan dressed in gold from head to toe, completing his outfit with a cowboy hat and sunglasses.
Eva stunned in a high-waisted gold skirt that fell to the floor and a long-sleeved button-down blouse with a plunging neckline, and her brunette hair in loose waves.
EVE’S GREAT RETURN
In her post with Ryan, the 2 Fast 2 Furious star joked about their similar ensembles, shouting about the actor’s action flick.
“Do you believe in happy endings? Aliana and Space Cowboy finally together. If you know, you know… @thefallguymovie,” Eva wrote in her caption, ending with a red heart emoji.
I’m extremely proud of this one. The proof is in my post – I don’t normally post pictures of my man kissing a girl, but Emily Blunt is really good at it.”

Fans rushed to the comments and begged for the two to appear on screen together again, which led the Ghost Rider star to hint at the possibility.
“How amazing it will be to see you two together for another movie!” one person wrote, to which Eva responded: “Coming soon!! 🙂 Much love to you!”
Others were ecstatic about the mother-of-two’s admission, with one writing: “Yes, that answer is what I’ve been longing for!”
Another excited fan said, “COMING SOON??!?!! SORRY,” and a third demanded: “We need ads ASAP!!!!!!”
Ryan and Eva last appeared together in the 2013 film The Place Beyond the Pines, and they began dating shortly after filming ended.
After starring in a series of highly successful productions, Eva took a break from acting in 2014 to prioritize her daughters – Esmeralda Amanda, nine, and Amada Lee, eight.
Eva spoke about the change in a recent interview with Peopleadmitting: “It was the easiest decision I’ve ever made.
“I was older and I knew my kids would be little one day, and everything I do or don’t do now will affect them for the rest of their lives.”
Eva explained that she didn’t feel “pressure” to stay at home and take care of the girls, but “felt it as clarity” to help her make the choice.
“Your career comes and goes, but kids, yeah, that was easy for me. They are just formative years.
“Everything matters when you have two little people watching you all day. It’s scary, but it’s good because it makes me try to be a better person every day,” added The Other Guys star.
