The 2024 Cannes Film Festival is well underway and the fashion has been anything but ordinary. From photo shoots to red carpet premieres, the seaside town in the south of France has been the scene of spectacular celebrity looks, including Selena Gomez, Emma StoneNaomi Campbell and Bella Hadid.

In addition to being one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, where award-winning directors such as Francisco Ford Coppola and Yorgos Lanthimos will premiere their highly anticipated films, the annual event has a reputation for showcasing glamorous sartorial moments. This year’s festival, which runs from May 14 to 25, was no exception.

A tribute to classic Hollywood glamor

From classic tuxedos to timeless silhouettes, many celebrities channeled old Hollywood on the Cannes red carpet.

Emilia Perez actress Selena Gomez, model Candice Swanepoel and The substance actress Demi Moore kept things classic.

Serious statement makers

While some stars opted for classic colors and silhouettes, others turned up the heat with bigger, bolder designs.

Models Bella Hadid and Winnie Harlow certainly made statements. The Orebella fragrance founder donned a barely there brown dress by Dior by John Galliano, while businessman Cay Skin leaned into the cowboy trend, with a monochromatic suit adorned with pearls from Tamara Ralph’s fall 2023 couture collection.

Emma Stone turned heads when she attended the premiere of her new film, Kinds of kindness, in a bold burgundy dress with a plunging neckline by Louis Vuitton.

A whimsical approach

Bows and ball gowns and beads, oh my! Other high-profile attendees took the opportunity to don more whimsical and unexpected looks on the red carpet.

Evil star Michelle Yeoh sported a fun custom Bottega Veneta gown with mint green and brown fringe, while The substance actress Margaret Qualley showed up in a chic ballerina confection by Chanel.
