DEMI Moore berated an audience member while introducing Cher at the amFar Cinema Against AIDS gala in Cap d’Antibes, France.
The actress called out a guest sitting “in the back” in the middle of her speech on Thursday night.
Demi, 61, paid tribute to longtime friend Cher, 78, at the event.
“I’m going to see if this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for,” she said as the crowd cheered.
“I’m just making sure you’re really with me. Because of this amazing woman I’m about to introduce.
“She’s a Grammy winner, an Oscar winner, an Emmy winner.”
Demi then paused, apparently angered by a disturbance in the crowd.
She turned to the corner of the room and asked, “Are you an Emmy winner in the back of the room? I don’t think so.”
The audience seemed surprised by the outburst, with some applause and applause.
“She is a style icon and my personal hair inspiration. And she was honored by amfAR for their inspiration award in 2015,” Demi continued.
“The bottom line is that she is one of the most talented, successful and best-loved artists of all time.”
“So please,” she said, pausing with a long look at the audience before continuing, “please welcome the incredible and unique Cher.”
It’s unclear whether Demi was joking with her comment to the public or if a guest said something to her.
“She said: I will treat you like a child until you learn to respect,” wrote a fan, commenting on the video of her speech shared on X, formerly Twitter.
“Iconic,” added another.
