In an Instagram Story, Jill, 32, and Derick, 35, issued a joint statement about how the tornadoes “destroyed our area.”

The couple spent most of the night awake as the force attacked homes and knocked down power lines.

“Fortunately, we are doing well, but friends and some family were not so lucky,” the statement read.

“We are praying for those affected.”

“The tornadoes hit us for a few miles,” they concluded.

The story also included emojis of a tornado and two red exclamation marks.

THE DEVASTATION

On Saturday night, a tornado caused damage in an area near a mobile home park in Cooke County, Texas.

At least 18 deaths have been reported across the country USaccording to Associated Press.

Cooke County Sheriff Ray Sappington confirmed that two children – a two-year-old and a five-year-old – were among the dead.

The severe storms also resulted in around 20 injuries in the area.

“We have five confirmed deaths, but unfortunately we think that number will likely increase,” the sheriff told reporters.

“There’s nothing left of this house. It’s just a trail of debris. The devastation is quite severe.”

Four deaths were confirmed by authorities in Oklahoma and Arkansas, two in each state, the outlet reported.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians remain without power, according to poweroutage.us.

As of Sunday afternoon, more than 164,000 were without power in Kentucky, more than 102,000 in Arkansas and more than 55,000 in Texas.

Photos of storm damage show mangled power lines, demolished vehicles and destroyed buildings.

THE FUNERAL

The tornado damage came just weeks after the couple held a funeral for their daughter Isla, who died stillborn.

In late April, Jill and Derek shared touching Photos of the funeral as they laid their daughter to rest.

They also set up a table with baby clothes, cards, books, toys and blankets to honor their youngest child.

“Isla Marie, our little girl. We will love you forever and keep you in our hearts until we can keep you in heaven,” Jill wrote.

The Counting On alumni are also parents to three sons: Israel, 9, Samuel, 6, and Frederick, 21 months.
