TRIBUTES have poured in from family and fellow actors to late General Hospital star Johnny Wactor.
The 37-year-old was shot to death in Los Angeles on Saturday morning as thieves tried to steal his catalytic converter.
Wactor was pronounced dead shortly after 3:25 a.m. after walking his coworker to her vehicle after a shift at a rooftop bar.
As he went to his own vehicle, Wactor saw three men around his car and was shot by a masked man, his mother, Scarlett, told the ABC News affiliate. KABC.
After Scarlett broke the news of her son’s death, calling him a “beautiful soul,” tributes poured in for the actor.
‘MEANINGLESS’
In a post, General Hospital star William deVry called it a “senseless” death.

“Honestly, words cannot begin to express the sadness with which 2 convey my feelings on losing another #GH Alum,” he said in a publish on X, formerly Twitter.
“The senselessness of this loss is beyond description (sic).
“Johnny was such a good guy. Truly horrible. RIP #JohnnyWactor and lots of love and comfort to those who loved him.”
Meanwhile, Parry Shen, who played Brad Cooper on the daytime soap opera, called his late friend who played Brando Corbin on the show a “beautiful soul.”
“Johnny Wactor was a beautiful, beautiful soul. So talented,” Shen he wrote.
“As you can see in the promotional clip, always ready for anything. Funny as anything.
“I got in good shape, but I also loved ice cream and ate all the junk food I ate.
“We have all been deceived for many years with him.”
BROKEN HEART
Meanwhile, Sofia Mattsson, who played Wactor’s wife in the drama series, said her “heart is totally broken,” in a publish On Instagram.
“Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard-working and humble.
“With a huge heart that spreads so much kindness and joy. He always made everyone around him feel seen, heard and loved.”
“I so admire the man he was and I am a better person for having known him,” she continued.

“We shared so many special moments, on and off screen, and I will forever hold them in my heart.

Summarizing the General Hospital cast and crew’s feeling of loss, the show spoke about Wactor’s “untimely passing.”
“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to learn of Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing,” said the publish to read.
“He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with every day.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.”
Wactor’s death comes just months after General Hospital star Robyn Bernard was found dead in San Jacinto, California on March 12 at the age of 64.
Wactor’s career

The Charleston, South Carolina actor starred in General Hospital from 2020 to 2022.
His first appearance on the show was on January 30, 2020, as Brando Corbin, but he was eliminated two years later after being stabbed by an unknown killer.
However, before playing Corbin, Wactor began his acting career in 2007, starring in Army Wives.
He also appeared on NCIS, Criminal Minds, Station 19, The OA and West World.
In 2016, he landed a film role in USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage, starring Nicolas Cage.
Wactor is set to appear in a new film by Luca Perito called American Sognare, which is currently in post-production, according to IMDb.
‘FAMILY DESTROYED
Meanwhile, Wactor’s younger brother Grant spoke of the devastation felt by the family.
“My mother is tough as nails, but she is broken to the bone,” he said The L.A. Times.
“We have to get him back to Charleston [S.C.]. It is a shame. It seems like it was the wrong place, the wrong time.”
Grant added that his older brother “lived life his way” and “did exactly what he wanted, until the last day.”
“He was a kind and loving son and brother, he lived life to the fullest,” Wactor’s mother said in a statement.
“He set goals and went after them. There’s a really big hole in our hearts and lives.”
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Homicide Division is investigating the case.
