Who are Aaron Carter’s parents?

On January 28, 1980, Jane Spaulding and Robert “Bob” Carter welcomed their first child, Nick Carter.

Backstreet Boys member Nick is the first of Jane and Robert’s five children together.

The former couple are also parents to twins Aaron Carter and Angel and their late daughters Leslie and Bobbie Jean.

Robert, who died suddenly in 2017, was also the father of Aaron’s older sister, Virginia “Ginger” Carter, from his first marriage.

After his divorce from Jane, Robert had one more son named Kaden Brent Carter.

As for the family’s fame and fortune, Bob said PEOPLE: “We went through very difficult times.

“There are many pitfalls to growing up in the public eye. The bottom line is that I love my son very much.

“It’s important for him to know that I will do anything for him.”

Bob appeared with Aaron, Nick, and three of his other children on the 2006 reality show House of Carters.

On January 31, 2012, Jane and Bob’s daughter, Leslie Carter, was found dead in the latter’s home in Mayville, New York.

At the time, Leslie and her daughter Alyssa were staying at Bob’s house as she struggled with addiction.

On November 5, 2022, the Carter family and their last surviving mother, Jane, suffered another loss when it was announced that Aaron was discovered dead in his home in Lancaster, California.

Although the police attributed the cause of death to a drug overdose, Jane believes otherwise.

“They never investigated this as a possible crime scene because of his past addiction,” the grieving mother said on social media.

“Aaron received many death threats and many, many people who were making his life miserable.

“Because of my son’s mental illness and prescription medication issues, they (police) just wanted it to be something easy, but they didn’t have the time or inclination to resolve it. There are people who must be held accountable.”

When did Aaron’s parents Jane and Robert divorce?

In March 2003, Jane and Bob filed for separation and divorced the following year.

On April 1, 2004, Bob married his third wife, Ginger Elrod, and held their wedding in Key West, Florida.

At the ceremony, his sons Aaron and Angel were present.

On June 7, 2005, Bob and Ginger welcomed the former’s seventh child, a son named Kaden.

On May 16, 2017, it was announced that Bob was dead at age 65.

The news was broken by Nick Carter on Wednesday, May 17, when he posted on Twitter: “I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night.

“As we learn more about the cause of death and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time.”

Aaron shared similar sentiments and tweeted: “My heart is completely shattered, I’m in shock and I loved my dad so much.

“We are so hurt that we lost you daddy too soon. You were never human to me, you were always my superhero in real life.”

Bob left his five children alive – Virginia, Nick, Angel, BJ and Kaden.

Almost a year after Aaron’s death, sister Bobby Jean, known as BJ, was also found dead at age 41.

She was discovered in her Florida bathroom intoxicated with a mixture of fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to People magazine.

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office classified the death as accidental, the magazine reported.

A heartbroken Nick posted on Instagram: “It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has suffered over the years.

“We are reminded once again that life is precious, fleeting and that we should cherish the time we spend with those we love.”
