Donald Trump’s statement after guilty verdict
Just minutes after being found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in a Manhattan court, Donald Trump addressed journalists. His statement in full:
“This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who is corrupt. This was a fraudulent trial, a disgrace.
“They didn’t allow us to change locations. We were at 5% or 6% in this district, in this area. This was a rigged and shameful trial and the real verdict will be given by the people on November 5th.
“They know what happened here, everyone knows what happened here. You have a Soros-backed prosecutor and everything, we did nothing wrong. I’m a very innocent man and it’s okay, I’m fighting for our country. I’m fighting for our constitution.
“Our entire country is being defrauded right now. This was done by the Biden administration to hurt or injure an adversary, a political adversary.
“And we will keep fighting. We will fight to the end and we will win because our country has gone to hell. We are no longer the same country. We are a divided mess. We are a nation in decline, serious decline.
“Millions upon millions of people are coming into our country right now. From prisons and from psychiatric institutions, terrorists – and they are taking over our country. We have a country that is in big trouble.
“But this is a fraudulent decision, from day one, with a conflicted judge who should never have been allowed to try this case.
And we will fight for our constitution. This is still far from over.”
Trump’s sentencing is scheduled for July 11, 2024.
