In a sit-down with Good Morning America on June 3, 2024, the comedian revealed that his father had passed away just minutes before he started doing stand-up.
He told the panel: “It was a small place, Flappers, and I was just releasing material.
“And my dad died and I spent an hour and a half on stage and it was hilarious. I got a standing ovation and then I just broke down and cried,” he said.
“I told the public what had happened.”
“When you allow yourself to be vulnerable like that, the support you receive from your fans is incredible,” said Marlon.
