The complete variety cover story was released on Wednesday, June 5th.

It featured Chloë, 49, and Kim, 43, interviewing each other about acting.

The flashy and deep piece came with a video where the iconic actress chatted with the relative acting newcomer.

Kim is set to appear in an untitled legal drama from American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy (Chloë was in the anthology series’ second season).

Kim also previously starred in AHS: Delicate, but their conversation wasn’t what offended fans.

‘SUCH A DIFFERENT TIME’

During the reunion, Kim mentioned watching the movie Troop Beverly Hills with her mom, Kris Jenner, for the first time.

“Yesterday I was absolutely stunned, I stopped in my tracks, I couldn’t believe it, emergency family reunion at the cinema. My mom had never seen Troop Beverly Hills,” Kim said.

“And we watched, and she was crying about fashion and all these stores that don’t exist anymore.

“And we thought, ‘Oh, we can never drive a Rolls-Royce in Beverly Hills these days.

“It was such a different time. So, I love nostalgic films,” concluded Kim.

Chloë – who rose to fame in the 90s New York indie film Kids, can be seen awkwardly forcing a laugh.

‘INSULTING’

Fans flooded social media and were dismayed by Kim’s comment, regardless of Beverly Hills not exactly being a dangerous area of Los Angeles.

“Tasteless to the core,” responded one fan in the Variety clip.

“Rich girl problems,” wrote another.

Chloë Sevigny says it’s ‘good to be included’ on Variety cover with Kim Kardashian as fans say it’s ‘insulting’

“Actors about actors, you say?” joked a third.

“Yes this is the worst thing about Beverly Hills for sure…” wrote a fourth.

“Peasants for some reason don’t like big displays of excess wealth. Their loss, I guess! Maybe they should have worked harder,” wrote a fifth, referring to Kim’s previous controversial comment.

In a previous infamous interview with Variety, the billionaire said: “I have the best advice for women in business: get up and work. It seems like no one wants to work these days.”

Other fans were offended that Chloë had to rub elbows with Kim, as they are far apart in terms of acting praise.

“I will never forgive you for doing this to Chloë,” wrote another.

And, “How absolutely insulting this is to Chloe and any credible real actor in this business and beyond.”

“Poor Chloe. Why didn’t they bring North in too? Surely that Lion King performance at the Hollywood Bowl qualifies her for this…” wrote another.

Kim’s joke also comes after she was robbed in a harrowing scenario in 2016 in Paris.

Kim had an emotional moment during the interview, admitting that her voice is “annoying”

“No all Do you find our voices annoying?” She said, “But yes, because people know you – I mean, they know how you move, how you talk, because you’ve been in front of the camera for a long time.”

‘CLICKBAIT’

Variety revealed the cover of its Actors on Actors issue featuring Kim and Chloë favorites Ryan Murphy on Monday.

The cover showed the unexpected duo wearing all-black outfits as they posed side by side with their hands on their hips.

The reaction from internet users was explosive, with many thinking its inclusion on the cover was a “joke” and being used as “clickbait”.

“What an insult to the many trained, hard-working actors who DO THE REAL WORK! To say this is shameful is an understatement,” criticized one person in the comments.

“Beyond disrespectful to Chloë,” wrote a second, while a third said: “Kim K is not an actress! She doesn’t belong in this space!”

Other cover stars include Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Aniston, Jon Hamm, Tom Hiddleston, Kristen Wiig, Brie Larson, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Jodie Foster, Joey King, Naomi Watts, Quinta Brunson and Andrew Scott.

Kim only entered the world of screenwriting last year, playing Siobhan in FX’s American Horror Story: Delicate.

While Kim and Chloë may seem like an odd pairing for the popular interview series, they have an interesting topic.

Chloë will play Kitty Menendez in season 2 of Monster, which has been retitled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

While fans know Kim’s connection to the OJ Simpson murder trial, which Murphy took on in the first season of “American Crime Story” – she also has a history with the Menendez brothers.

She revealed that she went to the same school as the convicted killers and grew up on the same street as the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Kim also discussed her new Hulu project with Ryan, which doesn’t yet have a release date.

The TV star will play Los Angeles’ most successful divorce lawyer, who owns an all-female law firm.

“I’m going to play a lawyer, a powerful divorce lawyer. I’ll be channeling Laura Wasser if that resonates with anyone,” Kim told Chloe, referring to the divorce lawyer she used. Kanye West.

The star also mentioned that she hasn’t given up on her dream of becoming a lawyer yet.

“I’m studying law. Seeing this from a legal perspective is just fascinating,” she added, referring to the project.

Chloë — who was nominated for an Oscar for Boys Don’t Cry and won a Golden Globe for HBO’s Big Love — republished the Variety cover.

She did so with the short caption: “It’s always nice to be included. Thank you @variety.”
