ACTOR Leelee Sobieski was caught years after leaving the spotlight to live a private life.
The 40-year-old movie star is best known for her role as Aldys in the hit 1999 romantic comedy Never Been Kissed.

Leelee made a big change in her early 20s, despite participating in several projects throughout her career.
When she reached the end of the 2000s, she decided to stop acting completely.
Since then, the star has dedicated her life to art and works tirelessly in her studio in New York City.
Leelee no longer appears on red carpets, but she was seen out and about on Wednesday.
She walked the streets of New York while talking on the phone to someone with headphones.
The artist wore a casual outfit with a huge black skirt that reached her calves.
Leelee wore long white socks and navy blue sneakers to add to her elegant appearance.
She paired it with an oversized green t-shirt that drowned out her figure.
She completed the look with a blue baseball cap and several layered gold necklaces around her neck.
The star appeared to be walking quickly while chatting on the phone.
FAMILIAR LIFE
Since leaving the spotlight, Leelee has focused on her personal life.
In early 2009, she began dating fashion designer Adam Kimmel and they got engaged a few months later in May.
They welcomed their first daughter, Louisiana Ray, who they nicknamed ‘Lewi’, in December 2009.
Their son, Martin, arrived in 2014.
Her family was partly the reason she left acting, but she was worried that a lot of roles were turning sexual, which she didn’t want.

Leelee spoke to Vogue in 2019 about her departure from the spotlight.
“Ninety percent of acting roles involve a lot of sexual stuff with other people, and I don’t want to do that,” she said.
“It’s such a strange fire to play with, and our relationship is certainly strong enough to handle it, but if you’re going to walk through fire, there has to be something amazing on the other side.”

Continuing his previous point, Sobieski told Another Magazine in 2018 that he didn’t feel comfortable.
“It’s kind of a crass industry… When you act, you’re selling your appearance a lot.”
Leelee now goes by her married name, Leelee Kimmel.
“I thought that because of my past, my work would be judged harshly,” she told Artnet News after debuting her work at a gallery.
“I had to make sure that if everyone really hated them, I would still feel good about it.
“That’s really what’s inside me, and I’m not trying to be someone else.”
