Ariana got some promotion for Wicked, the musical in which she stars and which will be released in November, halfway through the video.

The Grammy winner was seen wearing a tight black leather jumpsuit, complete with a cat ear mask, gloves, boots and whip.

As she walked along the city skyline, Ariana’s dramatic figure was silhouetted against the moon.

Fans noticed that in the corner of the scene, a poster for his film Wicked was visible.

“Ariana Grande, the marketing genius that you are [crying face emoji],” one wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The clip began with a special appearance by singers Brandy and Monica, who sang the 1998 song, The Boy is Mine.

The musicians posed as reporters presenting a news segment about Mayor Max Starling’s upcoming speech.

Ariana was in the kitchen watching Penn, who played the fictional mayor, on the television screen.

The You actor denounced the “rat infestation” in his “beloved city”.

Penn declared that the city was fighting back, releasing a group of “starving cats” to kill the rats.

Grande said the move was “fucking brilliant” and called Penn “so hot.”

She then prepared a pink potion in her kitchen, which was labeled: “Max Starling Love Potion”.

She was seen creating a leather Catwoman costume, putting it on and heading out into the night.

Ariana accompanied Penn to his apartment and watched him through the windows.

She sneaked into his apartment and sat waiting on his bed, seductively licking her hands and cleaning her cat ears.

As Penn began to run away, she used the whip to tackle him to the ground and slowly drag him towards her.

The singer grabbed her love potion and just when it looked like they were about to kiss, Penn knocked it out of her hand and it exploded on the wall.

PRAISE FROM FANS

Fans praised the creepy video on YouTube, with one writing: “Brandy and Monica as reporters!!!

“THE CAT CONCEPT??? PENN BADGLEY??? BRANDY & MONICA?? THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING!!!” another added.

“Ariana just collects all the heartthrobs in her music videos, it’s no big deal. First Evan, now PENN?! everyone says thank you, ariiiiiii”, posted a third.

They were referring to Evan Peters playing Ariana’s love interest in her We Can’t Be Friends music video in March.
