ALTERNATIVE singer Kacy Hill revealed why she no longer wanted to work with Kanye West.
In 2014, Kacy, 30, worked as a backup dancer on the rapper’s Yeezy Tour, where he discovered her music and signed her to his record label GOOD Music, which stands for Getting Out Our Dreams.
Kanye, 46, founded the record label in March 2004 and has signed big names in music including John Legend, 45, Big Sean, 36, and Kid Cudi, 40.
The names above have already left the label.
From 2011 to 2022, GOOD Music signed a long-term distribution agreement with The Island Def Jam Music Group.
‘I DON’T WANT TO BE HERE’
In a TikTok video shared by the user feel the roomthey attended Kacy’s recent concert where she explained what she needed to do to be dropped from Kanye’s record label.
“I signed with him, I signed with GOOD Music, it was crazy,” she began.
“So Def Jam basically paid to shoot my second album cover, whatever, and then they were like ‘Actually, we don’t know if we still want you.’
“And I thought, ‘This is crazy because I don’t want to be here either.’”
The company then told the Arm’s Length hitmaker that the only person who could fire her from the company was Kanye himself.
“However, at that time he decided he didn’t want to use email and he also didn’t have an assistant, so I thought ‘This is so crazy.’
“So for the next six months of my life and this is a true story, I’m not exaggerating anything.
“I went to Sunday service every weekend of my life and it was like going to someone’s wedding with a contract in my hand where I would go and say ‘That was really beautiful, sir’.”
When Kacy asked to speak to Kanye, he told her to attend a rehearsal, but was not given the location where the rehearsal would be held.
She then explained that she went to an office building in Calabasas, California.
The alternative singer continued her story, “[Kanye] it was like ‘Why are you here?’ and I thought ‘Hmm, I need to get out of this deal.’
