BRAD Pitt was reportedly devastated as his daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt sought to distance herself from him.
The teenager petitioned the Los Angeles court to have her last name changed, removing Pitt.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, a source said Us weekly.
The outlet confirmed that Shiloh hired and paid its own lawyer to handle the case.
Brad, 60, was devastated by his daughter’s decision.
“Brad was devastated by this choice,” a source told the outlet.
“For him, it was more than a name change – it was a symbol of a deeper estrangement that has been brewing for years.”
This is not the first time that one of the Fight Club star’s children has spoken out against him or denounced his surname.
In November, Shiloh’s older sister Zahara introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie during a sorority event at Spelman College.
Then in May, her youngest daughter, Vivienne, was cast as Vivienne Jolie in a Broadway play for The Outsiders.
Brad and Angelina called it quits in September 2016.
They are also parents to Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; and Vivienne’s twin brother, Knox.
Although separated for years, the couple continues to fight in court over custody and their winery, Chateau Miraval.
However, the kids are said to have chosen a side, and it doesn’t appear to be Brad’s.
“Unfortunately, Brad doesn’t have much of a relationship with his kids,” a second source told Us.
“He’s not ready to give up on them, but knowing they’re abandoning his name is upsetting.”

On the day she turns 18, Shiloh makes a legal request to officially remove Pitt from her surname.
Another told the magazine: “Brad is putting on a brave face, but behind closed doors he is finding it extremely difficult to accept [what’s happening].”
That same source told Us Weekly that Brad and Angelina’s children decided to distance themselves from their father out of loyalty to Angelina.
“They have struggled to forgive and connect with Brad since the divorce,” the source added.
“Their mother is the head of the family and she raised them with love and selflessness throughout their lives. After Brad left, it was very difficult for them to see him go to war with her.”
BRAD’S PAIN
These comments came after those close to Brad claimed his children’s name change was a reminder that he “lost” them.
“Of course, the reminders that he lost his children are not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad,” said the source.
“He’s still happy with Ines [de Ramon]”, but the situation “hurts” him.
SURNAME
Shiloh filed paperwork to change her name from Jolie-Pitt to Jolie last week, once she turned 18.
No certain answers have been provided regarding Shiloh or any of her siblings’ decision not to be named Pitt.
A security guard for Brad and Angelina stated, however, that the actress tried to turn her children against their father.
In March, Brad stopped seeking custody of his children and opted for visitation rights.
However, the couple remains embroiled in legal disputes over their French vineyard.
The couple called it quits in 2016 after 12 years together, with Angelina citing “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce papers.
In court documents revealed after their split, Angelina’s team alleged that Brad attacked his wife and two children on a plane in 2016 while under the influence of alcohol.
The FBI, as well as the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Families, cleared Brad of the charges, but some of his family members spoke out against him.
In a leaked private post from 2020, Brad’s son Pax called the actor a “world-class idiot” and a “despicable person.”
The Instagram post added that Brad made his children “shake in fear.”
Brad doesn’t speak publicly often, if ever, about his family.
