TV star Johnny Canales died at age 77.
The family of the musician and radio host announced the loss on Friday.
Johnny’s wife Nora shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook on Friday, according to TMZ.
The outlet added that Nora did not disclose the cause of death on social media. declaration.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Johnny Canales,” wrote Nora on the page dedicated to Johnny’s show.
“He was more than just a beloved husband, father, TV host, musician and artist; he was a beacon of hope and joy for countless people. His infectious charisma and dedication to promoting Latin music and culture left a huge mark on the world .
“Johnny’s spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and the legacy he built.”
The announcement concluded: “We thank everyone for their kind words, love and support during this difficult time. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. Remember him not with sadness, but with the joy and passion that he always brought to our lives.”
Alongside his wife, Johnny has two adult daughters, Zelestial and Miroslava.
In March of this year, Nora, Zelestial and Miroslava came together to inform fans about Johnny’s health.
“Thank you everyone for all your love, for your prayers. We are taking care of Johnny. He is in good hands. Thank you everyone for your prayers, for loving non-stop. We are exhausted. We have been through a lot.
“It is a blessing that you are with us spiritually in prayers that hold great love in our hearts. Know that he is fine, that he is stable. there,” Nora told fans on Facebook, according to Tehano Nation.
“We also have doctors coming in to check on him every day, so he’s being really well taken care of, guys,” Miroslava added.
Johnny was said to have struggled with health problems in the years leading up to his death, after suffering a stroke in 2008.
