TEEN mum Amber Portwood and her new fiancé Gary Wayt’s row that led to him storming out and leaving her stranded without a car has been revealed as he remains missing since Sunday.
Details about the argument the Teen Mom star had with her boyfriend of less than a year, which ended with him leaving her and becoming a missing person, have now been exclusively revealed by The US Sun.
“They went from Indiana to North Carolina for her brother’s wedding, which was Thursday, and they seemed to be having a great time,” a source revealed.
Amber, 34, and Gary, 39, spent the weekend as planned and spent quality time with their brother Shawn Portwood and his new wife, Rachel Williams.
The pair looked happy, according to the source, and in the latest photos of Gary from the nuptials obtained exclusively by The US Sun.
News broke that Amber and Gary were engaged while in North Carolina, and it looked like her new fiancé’s family wasn’t happy about it.
“They talked about the cultural difference between his culture and hers and how his family wasn’t very accepting of her and expressed serious concerns.
“They also said they didn’t like her past,” the source added.
Amber and Gary planned to go to her family’s house after their weekend away to talk to them about their concerns, but of course that never happened.
As The US Sun first revealed, following the argument on Sunday, Gary stormed out of the VRBO cabin they were staying in, grabbed his car keys and wallet and ran out the door.
Because he left his phone behind, no one was able to contact him, and when he stayed overnight and into the next day, a distraught Amber called the police to report him missing.
Local police in Bryson City opened a missing person case and issued an alert for him.
Meanwhile, Amber was stuck at the cabin in the woods, without a car and past her VRBO checkout date.
“She was beside herself and hadn’t eaten or slept and was very worried about him,” the source added.
However, after she received news that he was spotted in Oklahoma on Tuesday, as The US Sun exclusively revealed, she was able to breathe a little easier.
The source said it was at this point that she began making preparations to return home to Indiana.
A fellow Teen Mom cast member came to Amber’s rescue.
“Maci Bookout came to pick her up and took her back to Indiana,” the source added.
GARY SPOTTED
Police previously confirmed that Amber’s fiancé was located more than 10 hours away from their cabin in North Carolina on Tuesday.
“We know he is not in this area. We know he is driving his vehicle. We have confirmed he is in a different state.”
The police source further confirmed that the 39-year-old man appeared in Oklahoma.
A source familiar with the investigation said everyone was breathing a sigh of relief that Gary had been located, but added they weren’t sure if the 39-year-old knew he was a missing person as he didn’t have his phone.
AMBER’S PAST WORRIES GROOM’S FAMILY
The reality star’s life as a teen mom since her time on the MTV shows 16 and Pregnant, Teen Mom, Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom: The Next Chapter have been well-documented.
Amber’s difficult journey and her troubled relationship with her two children, of whom she does not have custody, were shown on TV.
The 34-year-old star shares 15-year-old daughter Leah with her ex Gary Shirley.
She also has a 6-year-old son, James, with her ex Andrew Glennon.
Amber spent 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to two felony counts of domestic battery following an alleged attack on Leah’s father, Gary.
The star has been open about her struggle with addiction and mental illness.
Amber has written extensively about her past and her various mental health diagnoses in her book So Are You Crazy Too?
A source close to Amber said the Teen Mom star “has endured a lot of trauma and has worked hard over the past few years to overcome it all.”
