NICK Jonas will return to Broadway in the upcoming revival of The Last Five Years.
The Jonas Brothers singer will star alongside Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren in the lead roles of Jamie and Cathy.
The anticipated casting was announced just hours before Nick, 31, and Adrienne, 37, perform at this year’s Tony Awards.
The Last Five Years, a musical by Jason Robert Brown, previously performed Off-Broadway in 2013.
The show follows the downfall of a relationship between two New Yorkers – Jamie, a budding novelist, and Cathy, an actress struggling to make her big break.
Since it never transferred to Broadway, the show was adapted into a film a year later, starring Anna Kendrick, 38, and Jeremy Jordan, 39.
Now, the fan-favorite show will make its official debut on the Great White Way in spring 2025.
“I always believed that when the time was right, The Last Five Years would come to Broadway,” Jason, 53, he said of new production.
“Having Nick and Adrienne take on these roles is a songwriter’s dream come true, and having Whitney’s extraordinary guidance and vision is every playwright’s hope.
“It took twenty-five years, but the time is right,” he added.
Jason, who has won three Tony Awards throughout his career, wrote the musical’s first song in 1999.
NICK’S CAREER
While Nick may have become a household name as one of the three Jonas Brothers, he’s no stranger to the Broadway stage.
He made his Broadway debut as a child in a 2001 production of Annie Get Your Gun.
He later appeared as Chip in Beauty and the Beast and as Marius in the Les Misérables 25th anniversary concert.
In 2012, Nick replaced original star Daniel Radcliffe and replacement Darren Criss in the revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Nick was last seen on Broadway last year when the Jonas Brothers played a five-day residency at the Marquis Theatre.
