TEEN mom Amber Portwood “still hasn’t spoken to” Gary Wayt’s finance since he was found, as a source reveals her future plans.
A source close to Amber, 34, exclusively revealed to The US Sun that after her new fiance became a missing person when he fled with just his keys and wallet following an argument – only to turn up several days later – that the star from Teen Mom has had no contact with her new boyfriend.
“Amber has not spoken to him and is not in contact with him,” the source revealed.
“She hasn’t really reached out to anyone since he was found.
“She is very hurt by the whole situation and still in disbelief,” the source added.
Amber and Gary, 39, attended her brother Shawn Portwood’s wedding in North Carolina and spent a long weekend in the mountainous region.
On Sunday, June 9, the source said the couple seemed happy and added that the reality star even bought Gary his own engagement ring that same day, and he was wearing it.
It’s unclear whether Amber expects to get the ring back.
The source said the pair didn’t exactly break up, as they haven’t spoken to each other.
On June 14, police confirmed that Gary had been located and closed the case.
As that Sunday turned into evening and the two began to pack their things to return home to Indiana, they got into an argument.
As The US Sun first reported exclusively, the argument the Teen Mom star had with her boyfriend of less than a year ended with him leaving her and becoming a missing person.
News broke that Amber and Gary were engaged while in North Carolina, and her new fiancé’s family was not happy.
THE FIGHT
“They talked about the cultural difference between his culture and hers and how his family wasn’t very accepting of her and expressed serious concerns.
“They also said they didn’t like her past,” a source added.
The happy couple were supposed to talk to Gary’s family after the wedding weekend, but that never happened.
After the argument, Gary stormed out of the cabin they were staying in, grabbed his car keys and wallet and ran out the door – leaving his phone behind.
Without your phone, no one could contact you. The next day, a distraught Amber called the police to report her missing.
The Bryson City Police Department opened a missing person case and issued an alert for him.
Gary was located in Oklahoma and New Mexico and police insisted they would keep the case open until he contacted authorities.
He finally turned up on Friday and likely informed authorities that he was fine, as the alert was canceled – although the mystery surrounding his brief disappearance remains.
