Top Chef alum Padma Lakshmi poses proudly with rarely seen daughter Krishna, 14, as teen is ‘heading off to high school’

Indian-American model and producer Padma Lakshmi congratulated her daughter, Krishna, on graduating high school in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Padma doesn’t feature her daughter regularly on her Instagram, but she wanted to send her off to high school with a birthday brunch at Gramercy Tavern in New York City.

“I can’t believe my daughter is going to high school after the summer,” Padma captioned her post.

“I want to thank all the teachers, educators, counselors, security guards and staff at the United Nations School for looking after Krishna all these years.”

“I am so proud of Krishna and everything she has achieved in her young and happy life. Special thanks to the UNIS theater department and all the wonderful members of the parents’ association. I will miss you in the cafeteria! As Littlehands would say.. .girl, bye!”

She also shared some photos of her and Krishna at brunch.

Fans were loving the cute family photos, as one person said: “Oh congratulations!!

“Beautiful young lady like your mother!” another stated.

In the past, Padma revealed that she felt ashamed of the questions about paternity she received when she became pregnant with her daughter between relationships.

“It was as horrible as possible,” said Padma The New Yorker as she discussed being investigated about her daughter’s father.

She added, “I mean, talk about slut shaming.”

FROM MODEL TO CHEF

Padma was born in India, but immigrated to the United States as a child and raised on the West Coast.

She became a model and gained a following before beginning a career in television.

From 2006 to 2023, Padma hosted the cooking competition show Best chef on Bravo.

From there, she carved out a place in the food and culinary industry.

In 2020, she also created and produced the popular documentary series Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi.

The series premiered in June 2020 on Hulu.

Padma was inspired by her own path and upbringing.

The series covers the food and culture of immigrant and indigenous communities across America.

However, Padma’s official TikTok page serves as a more creative and fluid platform.

In fact, Padma regularly features her daughter on her TikTok page.

The pair often sit down together and film a podcast miniseries called Little Hands.

Mother and daughter talk about everything, from their favorite dishes to their first kisses.

Many fans on TikTok are asking Padma to turn Little Hands into a full-fledged podcast.

In addition to chatting on the couch, Krishna will also go to the kitchen to prepare dinner for the two of them.
