ACTOR Bill Cobbs has died at age 90.

The movie star was best known for his roles in The Bodyguard, Night At The Museum and New Jack City.

Thomas G. Cobbs, Bill’s brother, who is also a pastor, confirmed the sad news on Facebook, “On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California.

“A beloved partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate father, godfather and friend, Bill recently and joyfully celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by loved ones.

“As a family, we are comforted knowing that Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father.

“We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time.”

According to TMZthe cause of Bill’s death remains unclear.

Earlier this month, Bethany Cobbs, Bill’s niece, shared an adorable Photograph of the actor with his family to celebrate his birthday.

The star was all smiles as she sat comfortably in a plush brown chair.

‘HE WAS IN EVERYTHING!’

On X, formerly Twitter, fans sent their best wishes to the actor’s family.

“I never knew his name, he was in EVERYTHING, RIP,” one wrote.

Another said: “Mr Bill Cobbs was an extraordinary talent, an absolute legend and a gentleman. He leaves an indelible mark on TV, film and stage. May he rest in eternal power.”

“Thank you Mr. Bill Cobbs for following your dreams and sharing your gifts,” wrote a third.

A fourth said: “What an extraordinary actor.”

“Bill Cobbs was in so many movies! His voice was amazing. I’m going to miss him so much,” someone else wrote.

BILL’S LEGACY

William Francisco Cobbs was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 16, 1934.

Before beginning his acting career, he served in the US Air Force for eight years as a radar technician.

At age 36, he fled to New York in hopes of becoming an actor.

While in the big city, he starred in several theater productions.

From there, he made his acting debut in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three in 1974.

Its catalog of TV shows includes One Tree Hill, The Outer Limits, The Sopranos, Star Trek: Enterprise, CSI, Criminal Minds, The Drew Carey Show and October Road.

His films include The Hitter, Trading Places, The Color of Money, That Thing You Do!, Sunshine State, The Ultimate Gift and Oz the Great and Powerful.

His last film was Caroltyn in 2022 and the show was Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2020.
