MATTHEW Perry was romantically involved with Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife – who is now being investigated over the Friends star’s drug-related death, US Sun has been told.
It was reported earlier this week that Brooke Mueller, 46, had been questioned multiple times after police executed a search warrant at the nursing home where she lives in May.

Law enforcement officers investigating Perry’s ketamine death last October reportedly took an iPhone and a laptop belonging to Mueller and she reportedly hired legal representation.
It was claimed that Perry and New York-born actress Mueller met in rehab and formed an “unlikely friendship.”
But the Friends star’s ex-girlfriend and former assistant, Kayti Edwards, revealed that Perry was “romantically involved” with Mueller nearly 20 years ago, after they met at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Mueller did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Edwards, 48, exclusively told The US Sun: “Brooke dated Matthew in 2006, around the time I started seeing Matthew.
“They definitely didn’t initially meet in rehab, we all met in AA in 2006.
“She and I were seeing him at the same time, there was no girlfriend/boyfriend relationship – we just dated.
“He would take me out and take her out. It was kind of like, ‘Are you going out with Brooke tonight?’
“There was back and forth between her and I, but they were definitely romantically involved.
“She was like my rival, I knew her and I’m sure she knew me.
“We were hanging out with Matthew, dating him and it wasn’t a big deal.
“It was probably a three-month thing because that’s who he and I were.
“He and Brooke and I and he never hung out publicly and it seemed romantic, it was always at his house.”
In contact first reported on Tuesday that Mueller was questioned in connection with Perry’s death.
The next day, at the same outlet quoted Charlie Sheen’s lawyer Gregory J. Pedrick, who downplayed Mueller’s connection to the case.

Pedrick said: “I believe Ms. Mueller’s past choices may have placed her in a position to provide some incidental and anecdotal background to authorities investigating Mr. Perry’s death. Just it.”
Immediately after Perry’s tragic death, aged 54, in a jacuzzi at his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, Edwards said he believed he had suffered a relapse into drug addiction.
When it was confirmed in December that she was right, she asked that his doctors be investigated.
Edwards – who is the granddaughter of Hollywood legend Julie Andrews and currently runs a horse rescue in Yucca Valley, California – worked as Perry’s assistant in 2010 and 2011.
She last spoke to her former lover and employer after her memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing was published in November 2022.
She believes Perry and Mueller — who was married to Sheen from 2008 to 2011 and shares 15-year-old twins Max and Bob — may have gotten back together after that because he never told her about it.
“In 2010 when I started working for Matthew, I even asked him about her and if he still talked to Brooke and what he thought about her being with Charlie,” she explained.
“He said it didn’t surprise him because she was like that. She wanted to be with an actor with money, so this didn’t surprise him.
“That’s what she wanted, that lifestyle of being married and having kids with an actor, and I don’t think Matthew was going to give her that.
“At that time he said he didn’t speak to her, so they must have reconnected more recently, in the last two years or so, I think.
“She was sober when she was dating Matthew in 2006 because he was sober at that time.
“It’s possible that after Charlie she went off the rails and they reconnected in rehab.
“I don’t think I ever asked, but if they were hanging out, I’m sure he would have said ‘Guess who I ran into?’”
While it’s still unclear what police asked Mueller in regards to Perry’s death, Kayti says she had a history of asking others to give her drugs.
“The bottom line is this: Matthew was very persuasive,” she said.
“When he was in active addiction, he said it was no big deal.
“In my head, it was like, ‘If it’s not a big deal, why don’t you go and get it?’
“One time he was filming at Paramount Studios and he told me to pick up a package for him from an office, it could have been a doctor’s office.
“I didn’t open it, it was just a box, but I had to take it through the studio with a badge and drive to the trailer and was greeted with an envelope with money for delivering the box. To this day I don’t know what was in the box.
“That’s how he worked, I was like a messenger.
“Matthew never got caught for possession because he was smart and made everyone do his dirty work.
“I don’t feel sorry for the doctors who gave him this, but I feel bad if someone gets in trouble for doing him a favor.
“I don’t know Brooke well enough, but I know if she was involved in this, she was probably just looking for something for him.”

Perry released a statement saying, “Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best.”
Edwards also hinted that Perry and Mueller may have reconnected over a shared interest in pickleball.
Perry was a huge fan of the sport and spent the last hours before he died enjoying a game at his local club.
Edwards said: “Brooke has come up in conversation in the past because I would say ‘Wow, she hooked up with Charlie Sheen. This is strange.
“Charlie was so crazy at the time and she was a preppy little girl who played pickleball on the weekends.
“She wasn’t someone you would think would date Charlie.
“She was more Matthew’s style than me because I was tattooed and chunky and she was the kind of girl who played pickleball with him, although in 2006 Matthew was more of a tennis guy than a pickleball guy.
“It’s possible they played pickleball together at the end, since she was no longer with Charlie and he was recently single.”
