BET Awards watchers took to the Internet to express their surprise that the network had Keke Palmer as part of a tribute to Usher.
Keke and Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover, took part in a collection of performances that paid homage to R&B singer Usher on BET Awards 2024 Sunday night.
While some people enjoyed the show, many viewers shared Xformerly known as Twitter, who did not understand BET’s decision to choose Keke for the honor.
“I need BET to explain the reasoning behind Childish Gambino and Keke Palmer honoring Usher,” said someone on the social media platform.
“Math is not math!”
“They mess up because they have KeKe Palmer do it lmaooo,” another person added.
“Keke Palmer and Childish Gambino honoring Usher,” said one viewer.
“BET hates us so much.”
Many BET Awards viewers were shocked by the outrage that resulted from Keke wearing a black jumpsuit under a sheer dress to watch Usher perform at his Las Vegas residency last year.
“I just remembered Usher and Keke Palmer disaster,” said an X user about the presentation she made in honor of Usher.
“Keke Palmer, daddy dearest, somewhere punching the air,” joked one individual.
