HAILEY Welch, who became known for her “hawk tuah” comment in a viral TikTok video, has clarified her identity.
The 21-year-old shot to fame after a clip of her street interview with creators Tim & Dee TV made waves on social media.
Hailey, known as Hawk Tuah Girl, gave her first interview with Brianna Lapaglia on her podcast Plan Bri on Monday.
During the conversation, Hailey debunked some of the rumors circulating about her after the video went viral last month.
For starters, Hailey explained that she attended CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee, the night the video was recorded, when she was approached by TikTokers shortly after.
Although Hailey admitted she had been drinking, she said she was just joking when she made the comment and “didn’t mean anything by it.”

Just two days after being interviewed she realized the moment had gone viral.

Hailey confirmed that she worked at a spring factory and was never a teacher, despite some media outlets reporting that she had been fired from her teaching job because of the video.
“I’m not even old enough to be a teacher,” Hailey said, also adding that she’s not a bartender either, despite rumors.
After podcaster Barstool Sports mentioned online conversations about Hailey’s father being a preacher, she responded, “My dad is so far from being a preacher it’s crazy.”
When asked what her parents think of her shocking viral moment, Hailey said they think it’s “really funny” and are used to never knowing what will come out of their daughter’s mouth.
However, the new social media star said there have also been some downsides to her newfound fame.
Hailey revealed that her milliner was recently offered $600 to make her spit in a jar and sell it, which she called “disgusting” and “disgusting.”
Hailey also said she has received a lot of “creepy” messages from men and dealt with a lot of haters in recent weeks.
“The people who are here hating, I don’t even know them. So what the fuck do I care?” she said.
NEW IDENTITY
In terms of moving forward, the 21-year-old said she doesn’t want to be known as just Hawk Tuah Girl in the future.
Although Hailey dropped out of school “a year or two ago,” she also quit her job after becoming a viral sensation.

The Belfast, Tennessee native is now planning to travel to major U.S. cities and wants to “be on a show and be on a bunch of podcasts and everything.”
“There’s more to come, don’t worry,” Hailey added.
Hailey already made a big public appearance at Zach Bryan’s show in Nashville last week.
During the final stop of her Quittin Time Tour on Saturday, the country music star brought Hailey to the Nissan Stadium stage to help sing the Revival encore.
