CHARLI XCX fans were left on edge after the singer changed her message on a Brooklyn wall on Monday.
The singer, who released her album Brat in early June, previously wrote the title on a bright green wall in Brooklyn, New York, to promote the release.
However, Charli, 31, changed the word “brat,” written in black, to say “ok, bye!” in all lowercase letters.
With it seeming like the I Love It singer had officially ended her “brat era,” some fans were scared of what the updated phrase could mean for her new album.
On Monday night, Charli put fans at ease with a few tweets about the marketing ploy.
“Brat summer is just beginning :),” she clarified.
The pop star also reposted a media outlet reporting on her “ending her ‘brat’ era,” clarifying that the change of wall had nothing to do with the new album.
“Well no, just goodbye brat wall.. tear down the brat wall, you will always be famous,” Charli wrote.
Fans had a strong reaction to the mural change, with one responding that Charli made them “really scared.”
“Ummmmm no…. Don’t joke in our faces, we’re not done yet, Miss Charli!” a second tweeted first.
“What happened to a brat summer… oh my god,” wrote another.
After the English singer calmed fans down, some began to speculate that she could be hinting at what was to come in a possible deluxe album.
“CHARLI “OK, bye!” Is it the name of the album remix, yes or no?” one person asked the singer.
“REMIX ALBUM NOW”, demanded another.
“We can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve next,” another person added.
SUMMER
The Brooklyn wall directly mimics the simple design of Charli’s highly recognized album, which features just a bright green background with the title in black text.

Brat is the artist’s sixth studio album and was released by Atlantic Records on June 7.
Three days later, Charli released a little deluxe album with three extra songs titled Brat and it’s the same but there are three more songs so it’s not.
The new songs include hits Hello Goodbye, Guess and Spring Breakers, which have a more upbeat, club-oriented vibe than other songs on the album.
Charli rose to fame in 2012 after collaborating with Swedish duo Icona Pop on the hit I Love It.
She released her debut studio album, True Romance, just a year later.
