Wynonna Judd’s Past Health Issues

Wynonna has spoken openly about her past health issues.
In 2010, the country music icon opened up about her drastic 55-pound weight loss.
In March of that year, doctors found two blood clots in her lungs due to complications from surgery in which she had to repair damage to her stomach muscles.
Wynonna was also involved in a scary car accident while traveling to perform at an event.
After that, she was “determined to live a healthier lifestyle.”
Wynonna participated in brain state conditioning that can help patients not turn to food in stressful situations.
“My weight was a symptom and not the problem,” said Wynonna People.
“I used food to calm and reward and I don’t do that anymore.”
Twelve years later, in 2022, Wynonna canceled a performance due to an “extreme bout of vertigo.”
I’m working hard on my mental, physical and spiritual well-being,” she wrote in a video posted to Instagram. “I have a great team and I’m very blessed and broken, and I’m working really hard on self-care, which is not selfish; It’s sacred.”
In February 2023, she had to stop a performance because she was dizzy.
“I’m very dehydrated and having a hard time, so hold on a second. This has never happened before,” she said.
She sat on a stool for the remainder of her setlist.
Later that year, at the CMA awards, Wynonna caused concern among fans after grabbing Jelly Roll’s arm during a performance of her hit single, Need A Favor.
I’ll just confess everything to you. I was so nervous,” she said on social media.
“I got there and looked at Jelly Roll. I wanted it to be really good for him. I could cry right now, but I won’t because I’m a big fan of his and he asked me to sing, and I said, ‘Absolutely!’ I got there and I was so nervous that I just hung in there and that’s the end result.”
“I love this and I love you all,” said a third fan.
“You look fantastic! Keep going,” someone else wrote.
“Love you and your sister and these amazing photos! Thanks for sharing!! Happy July!!” a fifth fan praised it.
“I loved the photo with Ashley so relax,” a sixth commenter posted.
WORRIED FOR WYNONNA
In May, Wynonna performed during the season 22 finale of American Idol.
The country star sang alongside Emmy Russell, performing a rendition of Coal Minder’s Daughter.
Some viewers worried that Wynonna was struggling with a health issue, noting that she seemed “off.”
She shared photos of her outfit for the show on social media, including a black cowboy hat embellished with blue stones and black feathers.
She wore a long black blazer with matching stones on the lapel, pockets and sleeves and finished the look with a white button-down shirt and loose black pants.
The Instagram post included two full-length photos that showed her in front of an American Idol step and repeat and one close-up.
The stones in her outfit matched the setting behind her, which she alluded to in her caption.
“Did we plan the wardrobe around @AmericanIdol or did they plan it around me?” she wrote.
Fans praised her in the comments.
“I swear you don’t age!!!! And you can rock a hat like no other!!” one gushed.
“You look AWESOME!! It was a WONDERFUL surprise to see you on American Idol singing with Emmy”, praised a second.
“Just when you think she can’t get any hotter,” a third posted.
“You were stunning and I absolutely loved your performance,” someone shared.
Although many enjoyed the presentation, others were concerned about it.
The Young Love singer looked elegant as she took to the stage, but some thought she looked like she was struggling to move.
Fans were quick to point out Wynonna’s personality on X, formerly Twitter, with many expressing concern.
“Wynonna Judd didn’t really move during the song. It was a little disturbing,” one person posted on the platform.
“Something is wrong with Wynonna,” wrote a second.
“@Wynonna is DEFINITELY hiding some kind of health issue on @americanidol,” wrote a third.
Others thought her behavior mimicked what they saw when she performed with Jelly Roll in November 2023.
While the two sang together at the CMA Awards, Wynonna grabbed Jelly Roll’s jacket, which led some viewers to speculate that she was battling vertigo.
“Wynonna has vertigo and you can see in her eyes that she was having it. The flashing lights will set it off. I have it and the flashing lights no way. I’m glad Jelly noticed this and held her. She did too held him,” one person online pointed out.
“She seems to need to hold onto it for balance and almost looked like a mannequin during the performance. Hoping it’s not something bad medical going on,” another worried.
Wynonna clarified everything in an online statement.
Speaking directly to the camera in a selfie-style video, she shared: “I’m going to confess everything to you all.
“I got there and looked at the Jelly Roll. I wanted it to be really good for him.
“I could cry right now, but I won’t because I’m a big fan of his and he asked me to sing and I said, ‘Absolutely!’”
“I got there and I was so nervous that I just hung in there. And that’s the bottom line,” she continued.
She assured fans that “everything is fine.”
