ELLEN DeGeneres confessed to being ‘picky’ and ‘impatient’ after canceling a series of stand-up shows on her tour.

The former talk show host, who stepped out of the spotlight after a “devastating” scandal, has launched a comeback tour called Ellen’s Last Stand…Up.

Earlier this week, Ellen, 66, performed a show at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, California.

She opened the program by addressing the scandal that ended her career as host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“Let me tell you what’s been happening to me since the last time you saw me,” she said, pausing as the audience laughed, according to the SF Gate.

“I have chickens,” she announced.

Ellen continued, “Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being bad.”

In 2020, Ellen was accused of showing favoritism, making rude and racially motivated comments about employees, and firing employees for taking sick leave, in a bombshell Buzzfeed report.

A viral Twitter thread that emerged around the same time as the report alleged that she once fired someone on her team for looking and talking to her.

“I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me.’ I now realize I said that during the height of my popularity,” she said on stage.

The Finding Dory star confessed that she could be tough at times and maybe wasn’t the best boss.

She did not directly apologize for her actions, instead occasionally referring to herself as mean and other times calling the allegations “rumors” about her personality.

While on set, she said it was the second time she was kicked out of Hollywood, suggesting the first happened in the ’90s when she came out as a lesbian.

“Next time, I’ll get kicked out for being old. Old, gay and bad. The triple crown,” Ellen joked.

She added: “I can be demanding, impatient and tough. I’m a strong woman.”

“I’m many things, but I’m not bad,” added the Disney voice actor.

PUMP THE BREAKS

Ellen announced her tour in April, revealing just a few dates to start before adding more due to popularity.

By the end of May, she had more than 20 cities on her tour list.

In the same month, People revealed that it would be fans’ “last chance” to see Ellen in her “last curtain call.”

The show promised to “reintroduce its trademark humor and laugh-inducing anecdotes” to those in attendance.

Ticketmaster has since revealed that four of the shows have been cancelled.

Ellen canceled shows in Dallas on July 10, San Francisco on July 20, Seattle on July 22 and Chicago on August 11.

A Chicago show scheduled for August 10 is still scheduled to take place.

“Unfortunately, the Event Organizer had to cancel their event,” a company statement read.

He continued: “You don’t have to do anything. We will issue a refund to the original payment method used at the time of purchase once funds are received from the Event Organizer.

“It should appear in your account within 14 to 21 days.”

Fans were outraged by the late notice.

“I bought tickets to the Dallas show and you guys just aren’t telling the fans why you canceled at the last minute? We deserve an explanation, the least you can do,” one furious fan wrote on Ellen’s recent Instagram post.

SAYING SORRY

After the Buzzfeed report was released, Ellen stepped away from the spotlight, but not before apologizing.

“If you’re watching because you love me, thank you,” she said in the opening monologue of her show.

“If you’re watching because you don’t love me, welcome. As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment in our program and then there was an investigation.

“Being known as the kind lady is a tricky position to be in. […] The truth is that I am that person you see on TV, I am also many other things.

“Sometimes I get sad. I get angry. I get anxious. I get frustrated. I get impatient. And I’m working on it all.”

The final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired on May 26, 2022.
