Josh Peck underwent plastic surgery after a crew member’s comments about his appearance left the star ‘hurt’ and hating his appearance

JOSH Peck, the star of Nickelodeon’s hit early 2000s sitcom Drake & Josh, has revealed he turned to plastic surgery after considering his future in Hollywood.

Josh Peck opened up about getting plastic surgery on his podcast Good Guys, which he co-hosts with influencer and Instagram personality Ben Soffer.

A listener asked Josh to discuss his laser eye surgery, which he had in 2023.

“You know, I like to keep these things private,” Josh joked.

Josh has spoken about the procedure a few times over the past few months, sharing his results with listeners.

“But I think I’ll share. Fine!” he added.

The actor revealed that he had a “lower eyelid blepharoplasty”.

The procedure, commonly called an eye-lift, removes excess skin from the eyelids, giving the eyes a younger, fresher and more alert appearance.

In some cases, blepharoplasty can even improve vision caused by sagging skin.

“It’s for the best,” Peck said, referring to his surgery.

“It’s very easy. They all go into your eye. No scar, little bump, little crease.”

“I put this off for three years,” Josh said.

“I was filming a show in 2020 called Turner and Hooch on Disney+.

The series was removed from Disney+ on May 26, 2023, as part of a larger cost-cutting initiative under Disney CEO Bob Iger.

“And at one point, the director of photography came up to me and just kindly mentioned it, he said, ‘You know, you’re getting a little hard to light.’”

“He didn’t say it exactly like that; he said in a much more adorable and Canadian way,” Josh added.

Josh said it wasn’t the first comment he’d received about his under-eye bags.

“I started hearing from [the DP] and some of the producers know I don’t drink,” Peck said.

Josh has remained sober since 2008, after battling a secret drug and alcohol addiction in his late teens and early 20s.

“They know that I have a son, that I don’t live long, that I don’t like parties and that, you know, dark circles come from nothing but bad genetics.”

“It’s all on my father’s side. So thanks for nothing, Dad! I couldn’t stick around, but he left me his luggage, I see.”

Josh also said that a “great actor” friend of his encouraged him to have the procedure after he underwent a similar operation.

“A good friend of mine, who is a great actor, whose name I won’t say because I don’t know if he wants to be known publicly as someone who had the surgery,” Peck said.

“He’s not as brave as me,” he added, laughing.

“Shout out someone who loves your name [being] said, John Stamos, my other friend, who said, ‘George Clooney did it, Josh. Just do it.

Josh didn’t want to name names, but although the actor remains a mystery, he did name another big celebrity who told him to get plastic surgery.

“He was like, ‘You should have done this yesterday. What are you, crazy?'”

Josh also said that his own podcast – which is also recorded on video – encouraged him to do the work.

“Seeing me weekly was really hurting my feelings, and the comments agreed with my feelings,” Josh said.

After three years of deliberating whether to have the surgery, Josh decided to go ahead with the procedure in 2023.

“And you look amazing,” said Ben Soffer.
